Driver listing and OS/CPU limits
| Item | Check and action |
|---|---|
| Windows | The current card links RPT Drivers to RPT-Drivers.zip. Manual pp.6–7 list legacy Windows 2000, 2003, XP, Vista, 7, 8 and 10. That does not establish Windows 11 or ARM64 support. |
| Linux / POS | The manual lists Linux; the specification lists Windows, Linux and OPOS. Confirm the distribution, CPU and POS application package. OPOS, JPOS and SDK components are not interchangeable with a normal print-queue driver. |
| Other systems | The product’s Android and Mac OS labels are not installation proof for a specific version. On 28 October 2026, the official ZIP’s file layout and selected metadata were inspected statically. Installation, signatures and runtime compatibility remain untested; the URL path 2023/07 is not a verified build date. |
Find the correct files inside the official ZIP
The ZIP linked by RPT Drivers on the official RPT006 S/B/W card was retrieved on 28 October 2026 and checked for complete ZIP CRC integrity and SHA-256. Files, INF and DEB metadata were read without installation. These are actual included files, not proof of successful installation on every OS.
| Platform | Actual files and selection limits |
|---|---|
| Windows | Windows 7-10-11/ contains Setup.exe / 3nStar Printer.msi. The selected root MSI contains x86 and x64 INF files. The folder’s 11 label does not guarantee ARM64 or every Windows version. |
| Debian | printer-driver-pos_3.9.0_all.deb. Its control metadata requires CUPS 1.2 or later. Despite the all label, architecture-specific filters are included; verify distribution, CPU and CUPS requirements. |
| Ubuntu / SUSE | The Ubuntu file POS-80 is a self-extracting shell file, not a PPD; do not rename it to .ppd. The SUSE item is named 3nStar RPT008 Linux driver for Suse Linux 11.zip. Its RPT006 applicability is not automatically established. |
| Mac | MAC Intel/Mac Driver_POS Printer.pkg. The Intel folder label is observed, while modern macOS, Apple Silicon and Rosetta operation remain untested. Mac-named files inside the Linux DEB do not verify this PKG. |
| Mobile / POS | ESCPrint Service 1.4.2.apk / OPOS_POSPrinterSO V3.976.exe. Distinguish the Android app and OPOS component from a normal Windows print-queue driver. No app or OPOS tool was installed or run as a queue-failure test. |
When the RPT006 label differs from the queue name
The selected Windows MSI’s INF files contain generic names such as POS-80 and POS-80C; no RPT006 model string was found there. The selected Debian package also contains generic POS PPDs. This does not establish POS-80C as the correct choice for every RPT006.
- Record the unit label, actual interface, OS and CPU.
- Select the platform folder and distinguish files explicitly naming another model.
- Confirm the current RPT006 queue mapping and installation route with the manufacturer. If common host checks show a working connection but failed printing, return to the same-model official downloads.

This is a static file review. It does not approve signature trust, security or runtime compatibility and did not perform installation or settings changes. The existing device-level paper, cutter and indicator checks retain their original scope.
Base RPT006 and consumable specifications
RPT006 is a direct-thermal receipt printer using thermal stock rather than ribbon or ink. S/B/W variants below are explicitly listed in the official specification; this guide registers one base RPT006 entry.
| Item | Check and action |
|---|---|
| Paper width | Both documents specify 79.5±0.5mm stock and 0.06–0.08mm thickness. Distinguish 80mm stock from approximately 72mm printable width. |
| Speed | Specification p.2 separates RPT006 at 200mm/s from RPT006 S/B/W at 260mm/s. Do not assign 260mm/s to every base unit. |
| Roll size | Manual p.7 says maximum outer diameter 83mm; linked specification p.2 says 80mm. Preserve this discrepancy rather than guaranteeing an 83mm roll. Confirm stock against the unit label and manufacturer. |

Actual rear ports and the cash drawer
| Item | Check and action |
|---|---|
| USB / LAN | The specification gives the base RPT006 USB and LAN. USB is the Type-B port in manual p.10; Ethernet is separate. Connect matching cables with power off and match the actual unit and queue. |
| Options | The specification adds Serial to S, Bluetooth to B and Wi-Fi to W. Do not assume wireless on a base unit or invent IP, pairing or network-reset procedures. |
| Drawer | The drawer RJ-11 supplies DC 24V/1A; it is not for a phone or LAN cable. Use the matching DC 24V/2.5A power adapter. Connector appearance alone is not a compatibility check. |
Distinguish paper feeding from a host print test
- With no alarm, FEED advances paper and holding it feeds continuously (p.12). Feeding alone does not test print data, drivers or communication.
- No standalone power-plus-FEED test sequence was established in this exact manual. Do not borrow another receipt printer’s button combination.
- Common host check: once device errors clear, compare a small receipt job using the actual RPT006 interface and queue. If feeding works but host printing fails, follow communication checks and the same-model driver guide.
Paper loading and user-level care
The four steps on manual p.14 are power OFF, open the cover, load the 80mm thermal roll in the illustrated direction and close the cover. Reversed stock can prevent correct printing. Do not print without paper.
The head and surrounding parts are hot after printing. Follow p.5: do not disconnect communication cables or perform maintenance while the printer and computer are running. The manual specifies at least 20 seconds between power start and shutdown; rapid power cycling is not a recovery method.
Head, board, gear and cutter replacement on pp.15–17 and disassembly from p.18 are not ordinary driver-installation steps. If loading checks do not clear a jam, blade or feed fault, seek support without dismantling parts or moving the blade by hand. Density, heating-power and firmware changes are not routine fixes here.
RPT006 will not print: cause checks
Separate device, stock and connection faults from common host-file checks.
| Item | Check and action |
|---|---|
| Power | If blue POWER is off, start with the correct adapter and connection; do not assume a board fault and dismantle it. Connections |
| Paper | Check thermal stock, direction, width, thickness and cover. Do not force paper that will not feed or repeatedly jams. Paper checks |
| Lamps | Paper end, cover, overheating, cutter and paper jams share ERROR. Record colour, steady/flashing state and context. Indicator limits |
| Cutting | Separate over-thick stock, paper position and scraps from mechanism faults. Seek support if a cutter blockage persists. Care limits |
| Host link | Manual p.17 includes loose or mismatched cables when the printer appears normal but will not print. Also check the host queue, port and first failed job. Actual interface |
| Driver / OS | If the device is ready and connected but only host printing fails, compare RPT006 and the current file for the actual OS/CPU. Same RPT006 driver |
Shared ERROR and four indicator observations
| Item | Check and action |
|---|---|
| POWER | Blue on indicates power on; off indicates power off. Power alone does not establish communication. |
| ERROR | Red flashing is described for paper end, cutter, head overheating and other errors. No fault-specific flash-count codes were established. |
| PAPER | Section 3.4 on p.12 describes PAPER and ERROR on together for paper shortage and both off for paper present. Do not combine that wording with section 3.3 into an invented exact flash-code map. |
| Context | The manual distinguishes error, standby, printing and paper-feed states. Standby waits for a job without printing, feeding or errors; it is not a standalone diagnostic report. |
Official evidence and verification date
Checked 28 October 2026 against the exact product, download card, 14 relevant whole pages of the 26-page RPT006 manual and both specification pages. The manual’s change-record table does not assign a version/date, so none is invented here. Package runtime, signatures, physical printing and device settings were not tested.
