Compare current files with the installation guide

|---|---|
| Windows | The 30 October 2026 list offers driver 11.0.0 as ZIP/EXE. English specifications say Windows 10 and above, x86/x64; this does not establish ARM or every future Windows release. |
| 10.0.3 | Separate ZIP/EXE entries are labelled 10.0.3 QlickPrint. The installation FAQ also names 10.0.3; do not assume its screens or file are identical to 11.0.0. |
| macOS | The current label is Driver 1.0.2, macOS 10.6 or higher. Its target filename contains 1.0.2.2-signed.pkg; a filename does not verify its signature, Apple Silicon support or current macOS operation. |
| Utility | Printer Utility ZIP and the manual’s Windows TPM concern status/configuration. Their executable identity has not been verified; neither should be treated as the print driver or firmware. |
Obtain files from ALTEC and check the actual OS, CPU, licence and package instructions. No executable was requested or run here, and Linux support has not been verified.
Match the 300dpi model and fitted options
| Check | Documented checks |
|---|---|
| Model | The exact product SKU is 91001978. The shared manual assigns ATP-300 Pro 300dpi (12 dots/mm), versus ATP-600 Pro 600dpi. Match thermal-transfer/direct-thermal mode to the actual stock and ribbon. |
| Ports | The manual distinguishes USB 2.0, Ethernet 10/100, RS-232 and USB host. Rear-view item 5 is for the PC; item 6 is the keyboard/scanner host. Wi-Fi/Bluetooth require the actual optional hardware. |
| Stock | Manual print width is 105.6mm versus 106mm on the current page; distinguish this from 19–112mm stock width. Peel-off/cutter hardware is optional. The ATP-600-only Power quality mode does not apply to ATP-300 Pro. |
USB installation order and the real network address
| Check | Documented checks |
|---|---|
| USB | The official FAQ connects USB with the printer off, completes the USB installation flow, then powers it on. Also check the selected package’s instructions and choose the ATP-300 Pro 300dpi queue. |
| Ethernet | Confirm the actual IP with the administrator before choosing Network Port and matching model/address. The device’s Settings → Interface → Ethernet → Status shows current information. Do not copy an example IP from the manual. |
| RS-232 | Compare actual baud, parity, data bits and stop bits with the host and configuration printout. Do not substitute the USB host socket for the PC interface. |
Print the current configuration without the PC
- Check suitable media/ribbon and a closed cover. The manual requires at least 50mm-wide media for this report and prefers 100mm.
- From the LCD Menu, open Settings → Diagnostic.
- Select Print Config. and compare its model, media size, sensing, RS-232 and Ethernet information with the PC settings.
This follows printed page 30 (PDF page 31). A successful device report does not certify the PC driver or every interface. It is separate from Factory default.
Choose gap, black-mark or continuous media
For skipped or excessive feeding, first check that guides are neither tight nor wide. Use gap sensing for an in-range gap/notch; align black-mark sensing for a back-side mark or notch outside the gap sensor’s range. The manual identifies the black-mark sensor by two small dots.
With the actual media loaded and cover closed, choose Gap, Black Mark or Continuous under Calibration → Auto Calibration. The guide describes 2–3 labels feeding before Calibration complete. This is separate from configuration printing; feeding alone is not proof of success. For repeated failure, follow the matching procedure in section 4.3 or contact support.
Match the exact LCD wording
These selected messages come from printed page 38. They are not numeric error codes or flash counts; a question prompt is distinct from a fault.
| Check | Documented checks |
|---|---|
| Carriage Open | Check that the top cover closes properly and stock is not trapped. |
| Calibrate | Please calibrate the printer can concern absent/exhausted media, sensor type or calibration. It does not identify a driver failure by itself. |
| No Ribbon | Check for absent/exhausted ribbon and compare the transfer job’s supply/take-up path with section 3.2. |
| Cal. failed | The illustration says Can’t Calibration while its heading says Can’t calibrate. Record the actual wording and compare stock/sensor with section 4.3. |
| FEED | Question / Press FEED Key requests a feed action; it is not, by itself, a ribbon or PC error. |
Choose the next check by cause
| Check | Documented checks |
|---|---|
| PC job | This ATP-300 Pro official driver route and the actual queue, port and paused jobs are common PC checks after device output works. |
| File | Compare files / OS to distinguish 11.0.0, 10.0.3, macOS and utilities. |
| Report | Print configuration separates device output from the PC path. |
| Link | Check actual USB / LAN / address before changing settings. |
| Feeding | Check sensors / guides / calibration against the actual labels. |
| Message | Compare LCD wording and record supplies. Density Base is reserved for use at ALTEC’s request; it is not a routine faint-print remedy. |
