Official Accel 7450S driver download
The official Accel 7450 Driver entry explicitly covers both T and S models. Read its Windows 11 alternate-method note before choosing software. MICR, Fastmark and Documax are separate entries.
Separate current OS notes from old setup
| Check | Check and next step |
|---|---|
| Current listing | Windows XP/7/10 and 3.39MB are listed. Windows 11 has a separate note recommending Windows Generic / Text Only as an alternate method; this does not verify the vendor ZIP’s Windows 11 runtime or CPU support. |
| 2021 manual | Pages 34–36 describe CD-based Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7/10 setup, selection of 7450 and Printer Properties → Ports. Keep that historical procedure separate from today’s listing. |
| Scope | Actual archive files and INF declarations are reviewed below. Signatures, installation runtime, Windows on ARM, macOS and Linux support remain unverified. Ask support about the exact OS/CPU/interface before applying an old warning-override procedure. |
Actual ZIP/INF files and CPU scope
The ZIP linked by the official Accel 7450 T/S entry was inspected read-only on 3 November 2026: 3,557,826 bytes, with CRC checks passing for 16 entries (14 files).
| Item | Actual files and scope |
|---|---|
| Actual files | The ZIP contains WINDOWS/7450S.INF and names model 7450S. The README’s old CD folder and example 7450.inf filename do not match the actual archive. |
| INF version | DriverVer=10/23/2020, 1.0.0.0 is the INF declaration. The ZIP name’s 20201117 does not establish a release date, and this is not every DLL’s version. |
| x86 / x64 files | NTx86.6.0 and NTamd64.5.1 model entries have files in I386 and X64. AMD64 denotes x64 here; this INF has no NTarm64 model section. |
| IA64 | NTIA64.5.1 and an IA64 source path are declared, but the ZIP has no IA64 folder. Microsoft identifies IA64 as Itanium, separate from ARM64. A declaration alone does not verify an installable IA64 package. |
| README OS list | The README mentions 2000/XP/2003/Vista/7/8/10, without Windows 11. Keep this distinct from the current listing above: XP/7/10 plus the Windows 11 Generic / Text Only alternate. |
| Catalog / setup | The referenced 7450S.CAT exists in the ZIP. Presence does not verify signature trust. Setup.ini declares PreRun=addcert.exe; this was read as text, with no program execution or certificate import. |
No installation or printing test was performed. For an installation or security warning, ask official support about the exact OS/CPU and package before applying the old README’s override instructions. Passing CRC checks does not establish signature trust or Windows 11 runtime support.

7450S identity and communication
| Check | Check and next step |
|---|---|
| Exact model | The shared guide explicitly names 7450S and 7450T on PDF p.2. This guide covers Accel 7450S. Specifications give 24 pins, a 13.6-inch maximum print line and up to 7-part / 0.020-inch forms (p.44). |
| Interfaces | USB 2.0 Full-Speed, 10/100 Base-T Ethernet and 9-pin RS-232 serial. Power off before attaching/removing cables. Page 9 identifies AUTO as the default interface setting (pp.9, 44). |
| Serial | Use NULL MODEM wiring and match baud rate, parity, data and stop bits. Pages 36 and 40 specify XON/XOFF protocol. This is separate from Documax 5380’s 25-pin connection. |
Cut sheets, multipart forms and page length
| Check | Check and next step |
|---|---|
| Path / feed | Clear the internal paper with EJECT/LOAD before switching manual/tractor paths (p.26). Square the left guide against the rack’s right stop and insert the sheet straight along that guide (pp.13, 37). |
| Dark / narrow | For dark forms, first load/eject a light form after power-on or moving the left guide. For each dark form use ALT + EJECT/LOAD, fully seat the sheet and use LOAD. Cut sheets narrower than 4.5 inches require menu 25 PAPER SKEW DETECT=NO (pp.14, 42). |
| Gap / faint print | AUTO gap suits most work; manual settings cover 1–7-part forms (p.27). For faint multipart output check ribbon, fresh forms, LQ and HIGH IMPACT DARK (p.37). For drift after the first fanfold page compare menu 5/6 PAGE LGTH with driver/application paper sizes (p.39). |
Distinct self-test keys
Three diagnostic modes from manual p.27.
| Check | Check and next step |
|---|---|
| ASCII | Power on while holding LF. This selects the device pattern separately from a PC print job. |
| Pin test | Power on while holding HIGH IMPACT. Keep this separate from the initialization combinations. |
| HEX | Power on while holding SPEED for hexadecimal input-data inspection. The resulting numbers are data, not device error codes. |
- Fit ribbon and preload a cut sheet in landscape orientation; p.27 calls for preloading to avoid an error indication.
- When no job is printing, power off and start with the one key for the intended test held.
- Compare device-test output with a PC job. Initialization, sensor calibration and alignment combinations are separate operations.
Four indicator groups and the LCD
Based on p.25; use these model-specific meanings alongside the LCD.
| Check | Check and next step |
|---|---|
| ONLINE | Green on: printing enabled; off: disabled; blinking: open cover or head-temperature protection. |
| SPEED | On: LQ; off: NORMAL; slow flash: HIGH 1; fast flash: HIGH 2. These indicate quality/speed mode. |
| ERROR | Amber on: an operating error such as no paper; off: no error; blinking: a functional error. Record the LCD message too. |
| HIGH IMPACT | Green on: heavy impact for multipart forms; off: normal printing. |
LCD messages and the functional-error range
| Check | Check and next step |
|---|---|
| FUNCTION ERROR 1–12 | Page 41 groups these as functional failures. Record the number; contact support if it persists after the documented power-off, paper removal and restart. Individual number-to-component meanings are not supplied. |
| HEAD PROTECTION | High-density work can heat the head, blink ONLINE and slow/stop output. Normal printing resumes after cooling (p.41). |
| PARK ERROR | Fanfold paper did not return properly to its parked position; remove and reload it (p.41). |
| PAPER OUT | Load paper for the selected manual/tractor path; press ONLINE after loading rear fanfold paper (p.41). |
| PAPER JAM | Remove wrinkled tractor paper, reload and use ONLINE to resume. For a false alarm check direct light/dark printing near sprocket holes (p.38); arrange sensor calibration with support. |
| REMOVE PAPER | A cut sheet may be incompletely ejected or simply still on the rack after the job/eject action. Remove it; persistent messages warrant checking paper fragments around the sensor (pp.38, 42). |
| SKEW ERROR | With menu 25 enabled, excessive skew or an overly narrow sheet can trigger it. Reload straight and compare the narrow-sheet condition (p.42). |
| COVER OPEN | Close the cover and use ONLINE to re-enable output. Stop printing with ONLINE before opening the cover (p.43). |
| JAM SENSOR | Clear with ONLINE, unload with EJECT/LOAD as needed, check fragments/dirt/direct light at the tractor sensor and reload. Refer persistent errors to support (p.43). |
