SRP-330II official driver route
Open the exact SRP-330II support page. Choose the package for your operating system and POS workflow, then follow its installation instructions. Drivers and firmware are different; a firmware update is not the first diagnostic step.

SRP-330II is a thermal receipt printer; SRP-332II and the replacement SRP-330III are separate models. The mapped manual lists USB + serial (COS), USB + parallel (COP), and USB + Ethernet + serial (COES). Inspect the actual rear panel before selecting a port. The DK cash-drawer socket is not the Ethernet socket.
The manual specification table assigns 180dpi to SRP-330II and 203dpi to SRP-332II. The product overview combines 180/203dpi and its interface summary differs from the detailed manual list. Use the exact model label and installed board rather than treating every listed feature as fitted.
Choose the required software
| Purpose | Current listing | Conditions |
|---|---|---|
| Windows print queue | POS Windows Driver V5.2.3 · 16MB · 2026-08-18 | Published: Windows7/8/8.1/10 32/64-bit; Windows11 64-bit and listed Server editions through 2022. Windows ARM architecture is not established by the 64-bit label. |
| POS application integration | OPOS V5.2.10 / JavaPOS V2.8.12 · 2026-08-18 | Select the interface expected by the till software. These packages do not replace every Windows print-queue workflow. |
| Mac / Linux print queue | CUPS POS V1.5.9 · 4MB · 2026-03-12 | Mac list says 10.9 or later. Linux lists minimum distributions and Pi2 32-bit/Pi4 64-bit. Check the selected package for your actual OS/CPU; these labels are not a hardware test. |
| Special port / configuration | BXLVCOM4USB V2.7.2; BXLVCOM4NET V2.4.5; Utility V1.0.18 | Virtual ports serve applications requiring COM-style access; the utility configures the printer. Do not install all packages or change a working till configuration indiscriminately. |
Run the printer self-test first
With suitable paper loaded and the cover closed, switch the printer off. Hold FEED while switching it on; the first report includes the control ROM version. At the printed mode-selection prompt, press FEED for less than one second to choose Continuous SELF-TEST. It prints a character sample, finishes with COMPLETED, cuts and returns to standby (manual pp.28-29).
A press of one second or more at that prompt enters VMSM setting selection. Keep that settings path out of the initial test. The normal-operation three-second feed behavior is a different action. The manual calls the blinking standby lamp PAPER on p.24 and an error-signal light on p.28; use the printed prompt and real condition rather than declaring one exclusive blink pattern a fault.
Read lamps in context
| Lamp | Meaning / check | Guide |
|---|---|---|
| POWER lit | The printer is powered; this alone does not prove the PC queue is connected. | Check |
| ERROR lit | Examples include an open cover or missing roll; inspect both before software. | Check |
| PAPER lit | Roll near its end or absent; check the roll and its loading. | Check |
| PAPER blinking / test prompt | Controller table includes self-test or macro standby. The self-test paragraph uses different lamp wording; check the printed prompt. | Check |
Eight symptoms and next checks
| Symptom | Next check | Guide |
|---|---|---|
| No power or no self-test | Check the specified BIXOLON supply, paper and cover. A failed device test is not repaired by reinstalling a PC package. | Device test |
| Self-test works, PC printing fails | Common PC checks: selected printer, offline/pause state, held job and the required driver/workflow. | Same-model driver |
| USB or network queue unreachable | Check the real port/cable and queue. For a fitted Ethernet board compare its actual IP with the configured queue. | Connection checks |
| Serial output is unreadable | Compare host and printer baud rate, data length, parity and flow control; also check application encoding. | Serial / POS checks |
| ERROR or PAPER warning | Close the cover and fit suitable paper correctly; nearly empty and empty indications can share a lamp. | Paper / cover |
| Blank or faint receipt | Check thermal paper, roll orientation and contamination before software. Match the paper width and application layout. | Paper / quality |
| Paper or cutter jam / locked cover | Keep the outlet clear; do not pull paper or force the cover. Persistent cutter obstruction needs the exact manual or service. | Jam guidance |
| Two columns of hex and characters | Hex dump is a diagnostic mode. After printing stops, turn power off and on normally to leave it. | Leave hex mode |
Match the physical connection and POS workflow
Reconnect communication cables with printer power off, as the manual requires. Common PC checks: compare the selected USB queue with the attached printer, and clear only the failed test job after recording its state. For an Ethernet-fitted unit, p.14 identifies the Ethernet Function Key as the route to IP/MAC information; use that board’s manual without guessing a long-press reset. Compare the actual address and LAN with the queue. Serial settings are documented on p.26; record current values before any authorized change.
A successful Windows test with failed till printing points to the till’s selected device, port, OPOS/JavaPOS configuration or command/encoding workflow. Do not weaken network security or factory-reset a working POS system to test printing.
Paper, cover and faint print
Follow the roll orientation drawing on pp.21-23 and close the cover centrally. The58mm partition has a specific installation direction; p.25 warns against returning to larger paper after using 58mm. Match the physical width and application layout. For persistent faint output, power off, allow the head to cool and use the p.33 cleaning procedure and specified cleaning material without scratching the head.
Paper and cutter obstruction
The manual allows an ordinary power restart to return the blade in some minor jams. Stop if the cover remains blocked; do not force it or insert fingers/tools into a moving cutter. The exact p.32 drawing covers cutter recovery. Use that drawing or service rather than a procedure copied from a different model.
Exit hexadecimal output
If output is a hex/ASCII pair of columns, finish the diagnostic output, switch off and restart normally (p.31). Recheck one small receipt. This is distinct from a baud-rate or encoding mismatch; do not enter dump mode as a routine repair.
Official evidence and limits
Checked 2026-10-12. The exact support page maps English User Manual v2.00, 36 pages; the listing date 2019-08-21 differs from its revision history 2023-11-22. Model-specific procedures use that mapped manual. The manufacturer states printer discontinuation July 2024 and service/support discontinuation July 2029; these are published dates, not a promise of support for every future OS. No guessed numeric error codes, firmware recipe or installation/hardware-test claim.
