Model and driver source

This guide is for the usb-only direct-thermal dk-roll label printer; not a scan/copy multifunction device or a built-in ethernet, wi-fi or bluetooth model model Brother QL-600. The download button opens the official Brother support page in this window. The manufacturer’s page is authoritative for the available driver packages and their current compatibility.

Operating-system and download checks

The Korean catalog lists these systems for checking: The actual QL-600 Printer Driver 1.0.0b explicitly supports Windows 11 and Windows 10 x86/x64. Windows 11 is not a 32-bit claim. Software/Document Installer 1.0.0.37 and P-touch Editor 5.4.018 are separate installer/editor packages. Brother explicitly states no Windows ARM driver. Mac/Linux menu entries do not prove current package compatibility: their file lists could not be verified today. Check actual files for your exact OS; do not infer unsupported status, current macOS/Linux/ARM support or use Windows EXE on Mac.. Select your exact operating system and version on the official page. If your version is not offered, do not install a package intended for a different system.

Connection and installation

  1. Confirm QL-600, OS/architecture, administrator access, regional mains rating, saved queue settings/templates/jobs, correctly loaded DK roll and closed cover. Do not assume ink, toner or ribbon. Keep clear of the cutter and output slot and never interrupt firmware updates.
  2. Actual Windows driver 1.0.0b instructions require USB disconnected before installation. Close unnecessary apps after saving work, obtain the official file, extract/run it and follow the installer. Connect only at the actual requested stage. For safe USB cabling, turn the printer off, connect its rear USB port to the computer, then turn it on.
  3. The older User Guide recognition-error example connects USB before running the installer. Do not mix this with the current file-specific disconnect-first instruction; prefer the actual package instructions and prompts.
  4. Select the real QL-600 queue in Windows and P-touch Editor, match the loaded DK roll width/type and label size, then test one label. Do not apply SSID, WPS, IP-printer or Bluetooth pairing procedures to this USB-only device. Network sharing is not a built-in printer radio.
  5. Current Mac/Linux file compatibility was not verified. Use the official model download page and file-specific instructions; an old manual Mac example is not proof of support for the latest macOS.

Troubleshooting

Check power, cable, actual QL-600 queue, sufficient correctly loaded DK media and the closed cover. Bypass a USB hub with a direct PC connection or test another working USB port. Transmission errors need the actual printer-property port checked. If the installed printer is missing from P-touch Editor, review the official Printer Driver Uninstaller procedure and impacts on required settings/other devices before reinstalling; do not delete every queue or USB device. Compare complete LED patterns: orange flashing can indicate cooling; wait for it to end. Red flashing has multiple media/cover/feed/data causes. Check the output slot and roll if labels do not eject. For a cutter error, keep the roll cover closed and press Power to return the cutter and turn off automatically; only then inspect the outlet. Labels trapped in the cutter, persistent faults or rapidly flashing system errors require official service, not forced disassembly.
