Official Micra II driver list
For the 203 dpi Micra II 104/8, use the official driver list below: its model lists explicitly include Micra II. The product’s older driver overview still shows 2.7.1; compare the current Downloads list.
Confirm 104/8 and 203 dpi
104/8 is 203 dpi with a 104 mm print width; 106/12 is the separate 300 dpi / 105.7 mm variant. This guide registers only 104/8. The 118 mm passage width is not the printable width.
Current files, installer and application roles
| Item | Check |
|---|---|
| CV 2.8.1 | September 2026 listing, labelled CV signed. The installer EXE and pre-installation MSI are distinct; MSI installs the driver without creating a printer queue. |
| CV 2.7.1 | July 2025 listing labelled WHQL certified; retained separately from 2.8.1. |
| Loftware 10.6.30 | March 2026 alternative driver, explicitly including Micra II; the vendor recommends this core for Microsoft-update-related problems. |
| ConfigTool / Labelstar | Configuration and label-design applications respectively; their names are not driver versions. |
| Package verification | Links returned HTTP 200 headers only. Package contents, publisher signatures and installation were not tested; follow the actual package instructions and verify the publisher. |

Separate PC USB, serial and Ethernet
| Item | Check |
|---|---|
| USB | USB 2.0 High Speed Slave: the PC data connection, not a USB-host socket. |
| Serial | RS-232, with documented settings up to 115200 baud. Match the actual host/printer port configuration. |
| Ethernet | 10/100 Base T; LPD, RawIP and DHCP are listed. Read the actual address from the printer; report examples are not live settings. |
| Options | Cutter and dispenser are accessories. Confirm what is fitted before selecting those modes. |
Switch involved devices off before changing connections; use the supplied power unit and proper grounding, alongside the actual package instructions.

Match stock, ribbon and thermal mode
The product supports direct thermal or thermal transfer operation. Match media, ribbon and mode. The 104/8 table lists labels at least 25 mm wide and stock thickness 0.06–0.25 mm; gap and bottom-reflection sensing are different choices.

Feed depends on the current state
With normal individual labels, a short Feed advances one label; continuous stock moves while held. A long press during an active normal job stops printing. In error status, a short press changes to print-stopped mode; a long press prints the error code. These actions do not mean clearing every host queue.

Calibration and self-test store label height
- Check correct label loading and preserve the working media settings.
- Switch off; hold Feed while switching on.
- Release when Ready flashes red and Status is steady orange.
- After successful calibration, the self-test prints.
This procedure detects and stores label height. It is not a settings-neutral test. Page30 separately describes status printing with three audio signals; use the exact page33 LED procedure here. The sample firmware, IP, serial settings and counters are examples.

Micra II 104/8 printing checks
Five LED / beep groups
Five groups from page34. Blank Ready cells are not assigned an extra on/off meaning. These are LED/beep patterns, not invented numeric codes.
| Item | Check |
|---|---|
| Closure · 2 × 4 | Steady red Status: inspect and correctly close the print mechanism. |
| Head hot · no beep | Ready and Status flash red: allow automatic recovery after the head cools. |
| Ribbon · 2 × 3 | Steady red Status: for direct-thermal stock, check that mode; for transfer printing, check ribbon supply and transport. |
| Label detection · 2 × 2 | Steady red Status: compare the label supply and sensor position, then the documented media detection. |
| Feed fault · 2 × 2 | The same red Status/beeps can mean trapped media, missed gap/black mark or no labels. Beeps alone do not distinguish these causes. |
Eight cause checks
| Item | Check |
|---|---|
| PC job missing | Common host check: select Micra II 104/8 / 203 dpi and the intended queue. Check → |
| ARM computer | The current download page explicitly excludes ARM. Check → |
| No USB detection | Compare the PC data port, cable and actual package order. Check → |
| Blank label | Match direct thermal/transfer mode, stock and ribbon. Check → |
| Wrong stop or skipped stock | Compare stock, sensor and stored-height calibration. Check → |
| Printing stopped | Distinguish Feed actions in normal and error states. Check → |
| Red lights / beeps | Record both lights and beep groups before replacing software. Check → |
| Faint or missing areas | Cool the head and use the documented care route; persistent faults need service. Check → |
Windows and ARM limits
The current listing states Windows 8.1–11 and Server 2012 R2–2025, with 32/64-bit availability depending on the system and no ARM support. The January2025 manual has older Server2016–2022 text. A shared OS range is not proof of every package/CPU combination or modern Mac/Linux support.
Head care and service scope
Switch off and cool the head before the manual’s care procedure. Its specified cleaning pen or pure-alcohol cotton swab and 2–3 minute drying interval apply to the head; do not touch its protective glass or use hard/sharp tools. Pressure, print-line and cutter adjustments belong with trained service personnel.

Official sources and verification scope
Checked 21 October2026: official product, older driver overview, current Downloads and January2025 Operating Manual. Fourteen full PDF pages were visually reviewed, not all62. No printer, installer, firmware, reset or network setting was operated. Electrical power/humidity figures differ between current product data and manual and are omitted here.
