The Citizen support list is selected for this exact model. Distinguish the printer driver, configuration tool and developer SDK, then match the actual OS and fitted interface.

Check the official files and OS

CheckEvidence and next check
Windows DriverThe CMP-25L Windows Driver entry lists Windows 11/10/8 and Server 2012/2016/2019. The listing alone does not establish CPU architecture, ARM support or successful installation. Review the actual package requirements.
Setup toolConfiguration Utility, listed for Windows 10/8/7. This setup tool has a different role from the print driver; check what the application requires.
iOS SDKListed as an iOS (iPhone) developer component. This is not an end-user print application or proof of every wireless configuration. Mac/Linux print drivers were not established from this model list.

Distinguish the product introduction’s legacy OS examples from the current exact-model file list. Installation, binary signatures and particular CPU combinations were not tested.

CMP-25L and fitted options

CMP-25L is a 203 dpi direct-thermal portable label/receipt printer. The official datasheet specifies up to 48 mm print width and 56 mm roll diameter. Its 58 mm paper width is a different measurement from print width.

The current CMP-25L manual list provides CMP-25UM_EN.pdf, whose cover says CMP-25. Its model classification distinguishes base USB/serial, BT and WF options. Check the physical unit’s designation and wireless hardware; the manual cautions that some symbol combinations are unavailable.

Standard connections and wireless options

CheckEvidence and next check
USB / serialStandard interfaces are USB mini-B and RS-232 mini-DIN. Page 32 specifies manufacturer-provided cables between the printer and the host’s corresponding port. Do not assume a serial speed or pinout.
BT optionBluetooth option. Page 17 identifies iAP as necessary for Apple iOS connection. Check the fitted module, selected printer and application; use the relevant system guide for detailed setup.
Wi-FiConfirm a fitted WF option. Page 33 describes 802.11a/b/g/n and refers to a separate Wi-Fi manual. Confirm the actual interface before following wireless-LAN setup instructions.

Test with the information label

This summarizes Diagnostic Test on page 31. Compare printer-generated output with the computer job; this is distinct from resetting settings or calibrating media.

  1. Turn the printer off.
  2. Press and hold FEED and Power together. The procedure does not specify a fixed power-on hold duration.
  3. The information label prints. Without an additional FEED press, diagnostics exits after about three seconds. An additional FEED press enters Hex Dump; distinguish this from ending the ordinary test.

A successful printer test does not establish that every computer job is correct. Continue with the connection, selected destination and exact-model driver checks below.

Load roll media and labels

  1. Open the cover using OPEN and adjust the paper-guide width with the knob.
  2. Load the roll so media unwinds from the bottom, pull out a short length and remove an empty core.
  3. Close the cover completely with both hands; the manual warns that one-handed closure may leave it incomplete.
  4. Press FEED to align the media.
CheckEvidence and next check
Width / rollCheck 58 mm maximum paper width, 56 mm maximum roll diameter and 48 mm maximum print width separately. Wider stock does not increase the print area.
Cover / feedCheck roll direction, guides and complete closure. Distinguish an empty-media message from an open-cover state.
Gap / typeIf a label gap cannot be detected, compare the loaded stock with the selected media type. Consult the specific media/setup guidance before changing sensor calibration or service settings.

Check LCD messages

CheckEvidence and next check
Media OutMedia is out. Check that a roll is present and loaded correctly.
Cover openThe cover is open. Check closure against the two-handed procedure on page 30.
Check media typePage 20 associates this with gap/media-type detection. Compare label or receipt stock with the actual settings.
Battery LowCheck battery charge. Page 19 warns that very low charge can shut the printer down during dense printing, with possible data loss. Do not infer a fixed remaining runtime.
