A 300dpi thermal-transfer label printer

Bronco Max transfers material from a ribbon cartridge to label stock. The manual specifies 300dpi and up to 4-inch print width, with continuous, black-mark and die-cut stock. Physical ribbon and stock determine the colours.

Driver, design software and verification scope

Max Drivers v3.2.1Select v3.2.1 on the exact Bronco Max support page. The official ZIP contains DuraLabel_Max_Drivers_3.2.1-13.exe. It was not run; inner-driver CPU support, signatures and runtime compatibility remain unverified.
LabelForge PROThis is label-design software. Its published PC requirements are Windows 10 or later and 4GB RAM. Those requirements do not establish all driver/ARM combinations. The manual lists driver and design-software installers separately.
OS and installation orderThe manual orders power on, USB-B connection, driver installation/PC restart, then LabelForge PRO installation, with IT administrator access. Current macOS, Linux and Windows ARM operation was not established.

Distinguish data and power connections

ItemCheck
USB-BThe printer-to-PC data port. The supplied software USB flash drive is installation media for the PC; it is separate from the printer data cable.
EthernetBuilt-in wired networking. Initial setup uses a temporary USB connection to a PC with the driver and LabelForge PRO installed.
Power connectorUse the specified WDS5150240 adapter with the six-pin plug flat side up. Use its release slider when disconnecting, rather than pulling the cable.

Load the label stock and ribbon correctly

  1. Raise the cover latch, cover and ribbon rails fully.
  2. Slide the ribbon cartridge smoothly into its rail slot. It fits the correct way and is held by a magnet.
  3. Put the roll on the spindle; center narrow stock with the two fixing tabs. Stock unrolls toward the cutter with its printable face up.
  4. Spread the gray guides and bring the leader forward over the platen. If lowering the cutter for room, it must be returned afterward.
  5. Center the stock with the guides without pinching or wrinkling it.
  6. Latch the cutter back into position if lowered, then close the cover until latched. The ribbon rails lower automatically.

Compare FEED with a PC test label

  1. Latch the cover and check for a green Feed-button light. A steady red light calls for checking the cover first.
  2. The manual describes holding FEED to advance stock. Check its direction and unobstructed output.
  3. Select Bronco Max on the PC and compare a simple text label at the actual stock size. Ribbon Color/Supply Color preview choices do not change the physical ribbon or label colour.

FEED is documented as a stock-advance control. This comparison is not a standalone report sequence or a claim of a physical printer test.

Ethernet starts with temporary USB setup

  1. Keep the USB connection to the prepared PC while connecting Ethernet; confirm the actual network requirements with its administrator.
  2. In LabelForge PRO Printers, select the exact Bronco Max and open Ethernet Settings. Distinguish DHCP Automatic from administrator-supplied static settings.
  3. Save and record the displayed IP. Close Ethernet Settings and LabelForge PRO, then disconnect USB. If discovery fails, use the recorded address and installed Bronco Max driver with the manual’s host-add procedure.

Confirm network addresses, Windows features and sharing permissions with the administrator under the organization’s policy.

Narrow the cause by its colour sequence

Eight repeating three-blink sequences

A=Amber, G=Green and R=Red. Read the repeating three-colour order; these are not numeric codes. Steady green is ready; steady red means the cover is open or unlatched. During internal-software updating, amber flashes: keep power on until completion and green returns.

ItemCheck
A-G-AStock exhausted/jammed: check free unrolling and guides that do not pinch.
A-G-GGap/mark not found: match stock settings and sensor position. The guide centers the sensor for most supplies, rather than every stock type.
A-G-RStock not recognized: try another roll and move spare rolls away from the printer.
A-R-ARibbon exhausted/torn/jammed: replace its cartridge.
A-R-RRibbon not recognized: reseat the cartridge fully and smoothly, with its magnetic retention.
R-A-ACutter jam: completely disconnect power and follow the exact cleaning instructions; seek support if it persists.
R-A-ROverheat protection: allow a few minutes to cool.
G-R-ROther error: give DuraLabel support the sequence and circumstances.

Cleaning starts with full power disconnection

The documented cleaning procedure starts with power off, all power disconnected and supplies removed. It uses the specified cleaning swab or a soft cloth lightly moistened with isopropyl alcohol. Reconnect power only after liquids fully evaporate. For cutter jams, use the complete cleaning instructions and manufacturer support; avoid touching the blade.
