Badgy200 identity and differences from Badgy100

Badgy 200 is a single-side card printer with USB 2.0 and 260 × 300 dpi printing in the May 2025 specification. Its edge-to-edge area differs from Badgy 100’s 1.35 mm margin. The included Badge Studio Plus adds database import and a manual double-sided wizard; it does not add an automatic duplex mechanism.

Card designBadge Studio Plus is supplied with the Badgy 200 solution. Edition activation/database import is separate from installing the printer driver.

The month is a listing field, not a verified release day. Use the current Driver Compatibility document in that exact support tab for OS/CPU requirements. Package internals, signature, current OS execution and Linux/CUPS runtime were not verified; EXE and PKG are different packages.

USB installation order and host comparison

The 2022 exact-model manual says to finish driver installation before connecting the USB data cable (page 9). Follow the current selected package’s steps and match Badgy 200. Common host check: record the working queue/port before changing it; compare a device test card with a small PC job. The verified hardware path is USB; a network address is not a substitute for this connection.

Card thickness, loading and ribbon

The May 2025 specification supports ISO CR-80/ISO 7810 cards, 53.98 ×85.60 mm and 0.50–0.76 mm thickness. Load at most 25 cards at 0.76 mm or 40 at 0.50 mm, using the illustrated direction; the output hopper has the same stated limits. Keep printable surfaces clean and avoid folded, embossed or dropped cards. Fit the recommended ribbon cassette as illustrated and close the cover until it clicks; the printer recognizes the inserted ribbon.

Edges, manual duplex and Plus

Badgy 200 prints to the edge; do not apply Badgy 100’s fixed 1.35 mm border as this model’s normal print area. For clipping or uneven borders, compare design orientation and printable area in Print Center. Badge Studio Plus’s double-sided wizard is manual: physical single-side printing still requires a separate pass. Missing database features call for an edition check, not a replacement driver or a claim of automatic two-sided hardware.

Standby and hibernation

The 2022 guide gives 10 minutes of inactivity for standby and says a print request wakes it. Print Center can change standby and configure hibernation; a brief control-button press of 1 second wakes hibernation. These are document settings, not a reading of your current device timer (page 9).

Technical and graphic test cards

Finish existing jobs and load a card and ribbon. Press the control button for 4 seconds until the warning lights go out, then press and hold it again; release once its light flashes. A technical test card is ejected. This consumes card/ribbon and reports technical configuration; it is not a graphic-quality test. The graphic test is started only from Badgy Print Center → System details → Testing cards → Graphical test card (page 26).

Quality and part-specific service

For partial output, the manual checks design bounds/orientation, USB cable, clean cards, ribbon fit and roller/head condition (page 29). Horizontal lines can be a dirty or damaged head; persistent defects need the dealer. Unplug before maintenance (pages 8–9), and follow the pictured cleaning section for the exact part. No density-command, head-serial, firmware or internal-repair procedure is prescribed here.
