Official Zenius 2 drivers and documents
Choose Driver & Firmware on the exact official product page. Under Documentation, select user-guide_zenius2_ENG_20251104_B.pdf. Keep original Zenius, Primacy and Badgy files separate.
Current files and installation route
| Check | Check and next step |
|---|---|
| Windows | Premium Suite 2 EXE: 9.4.0.33906, 210.9MB, listing month 2026/10. |
| macOS | A 169.7MB PKG of the same version is listed. See the official chart below for Apple Silicon support. No installation was tested. |
| Ubuntu | Named AMD64/ARM64 9.3.0.33546-1 files are 135.9/136.2MB, dated 2026/06. Confirm actual distribution/CPU requirements in the compatibility chart and package guidance. |
Manual p.14 requires Suite 2 before USB connection and Windows administrator rights. It specifies Minimal for a network installation. Firmware files are separate. The official chart is reviewed below; installer contents were not inspected.
Connect USB after installing Suite 2. Separately, the ID-ALL card-design installation/license-detection stage requires USB and Internet (guide p.14). Keep the two software stages distinct.
Official compatibility chart: OS, CPU and limits
Read the Zenius 2 column and applicable notes on page 1 of Drivers Compatibility Chart.pdf under Driver & Firmware. Document KU-DRV1-1100-ENG-A4-AB1 is internally updated 28 October 2026. The portal row says 2026/06, which is separate metadata.
| OS / CPU | Manufacturer scope and checks |
|---|---|
| Windows | The Zenius 2 column specifies Premium Suite 2 x86_64, with checks for Windows 11 23H2 or later and Windows 10 22H2 or later. |
| Windows Server | The same x64 Suite 2 column lists Server 2022, 2019 and 2016. Check the actual installation environment and OS publisher’s support lifecycle as well. |
| Windows on ARM | The Windows header lists only x86_64. ARM64 rows for other operating systems, or an Ubuntu ARM64 filename, do not establish Windows-on-ARM support. |
| macOS | macOS 14 Sonoma, 15 Sequoia and 26 Tahoe are listed for x86_64 and ARM64. Footnote 2 explicitly names Apple Silicon M1, M2, M3, M4 and M5. |
| macOS network | Footnote 1 says DHCP network configuration is unavailable in Suite 2 for macOS. Apply network checks to an Expert configuration with Ethernet. This does not say the printer itself lacks DHCP. Confirm the address-configuration route with your administrator. |
| Linux | The chart lists x86_64/ARM64, Ubuntu 20.04 or later and Kylin OS V10 SP1 or later. Qualification used Ubuntu 20.04 and Kylin V10 SP1; other distributions/architectures are outside vendor support. Linux Suite 2 is minimal-mode only, without end-user alerts and notifications (notes 3 and 4). |
| Mobile app | Android 14 or later and iOS 18 or later concern the Evolis Print Service app. Recheck device-model and OS-version conditions. These rows do not add Wi-Fi to Classic/Expert or establish every-interface support. |
Chart checks describe manufacturer-listed support. Installer contents, signatures and operation on a particular computer were not tested. Permission to install outside the listed scope does not establish manufacturer support.
Check OS, interface and alerts separately
- Check the computer’s OS version and CPU against the Zenius 2 column. Do not use an Ubuntu ARM64 package for Windows on ARM or substitute the original Zenius Suite 1.
- Classic uses USB; Expert provides USB/Ethernet. For Expert address setup on macOS, check the Suite 2 DHCP-configuration limit. Do not apply network setup to Classic.
- On Linux, check the minimal-mode alert limit before diagnosing a missing notification as failure. Compare the device LEDs and technical test card, then inspect the exact-model installation, port and queue if only PC jobs fail.

Classic and Expert connections
| Check | Check and next step |
|---|---|
| Classic | The product table and guide p.10 show USB connectivity. Use the USB-B computer connection. |
| Expert | USB and Ethernet are offered. Check the actual configuration, address and administrator’s installation route. A mobile-app listing does not establish Wi-Fi absent from the product table. |
| Encoding / design | Encoding modules are fitted Expert options. This is a single-sided card printer; distinguish ID-ALL Starter design software from the Suite 2 driver. |
50-card feeder, manual insertion and output
- Use recommended ISO 7810 cards without touching the print surface. Compare the card-box thickness with the selector; the factory setting is 0.76mm.
- Open the feeder, load at most fifty 0.76mm cards, then close it. Exclude damaged, folded, embossed or dropped cards.
- For ribbon printing, use a model-compatible ribbon. Cassette hooks face you; close the cover until it clicks. For Easy4Pro, the full roll goes at the front and the empty roll at the back.
| Check | Check and next step |
|---|---|
| Manual feed | Check Suite 2 → Printer settings → Printing → Card → Card input / output. Start the print job, then insert one card in the manual feeder (p.20). |
| Front / rear output | The default front hopper holds twenty-five 0.76mm cards; the fitted rear box holds fifty of that thickness. Check the selected output route and distinguish capacities (p.22). |
| Rewrite mode | Rewrite uses special rewritable cards without a ribbon (p.37). Distinguish it from ordinary ribbon printing before diagnosing supplies. No card erasing or mode change is performed here. |
Sources: guide B pp.16–22,37. A thickness range alone does not approve every card material and ribbon combination.
Separate technical and graphical test cards
- With power on, confirm a card and ribbon are present and all jobs have finished. The test consumes media.
- Hold Power for four to five seconds until its light goes out.
- Press and keep holding Power again as its light comes on.
- Release the button when its light starts flashing.
- Inspect the ejected technical card for model, serial, firmware and cleaning details. It does not verify every host-app function.
Guide B pp.43–45 separates Technical test card from Graphical test card under Suite 2 → Assistance & Maintenance → Printer tests → Printing tests. The graphical test compares quality, offsets and ribbon synchronization.
Eight shared-cause LED groups
These LED-panel groups follow guide B pp.25–27. Compare position, steady/flashing state and the detailed Suite 2 alert. No numeric error codes are inferred.
| Check | Check and next step |
|---|---|
| Ready | With the fault indicators off, the printer is ready for data. |
| Receiving | Receiving data; distinguish this from cooling at the Printer light. |
| Card on | Shared ribbon supply, seating or recognition issues; also an empty feeder or card-loading fault. |
| Card flash | Feeder nearly empty, or waiting for manual insertion/removal. |
| Clean flash | Shared by regular cleaning after 1,000 cards or an advanced-cleaning request. |
| Clean on | Mandatory regular-cleaning indication after 1,200 cards. |
| Printer on | Shared by open cover, jammed card or mechanical faults; consult the reseller if persistent. |
| Printer flash | Cooling; operation resumes at the required temperature. |
Cleaning and print quality
Follow the cleaning warning and guide p.39; keep fingers, metal and sharp objects off the head. Regular and advanced cleaning are different procedures. Check the exact maintenance guidance rather than trying to clear a physical cleaning condition by reinstalling a driver.
