Official PreForm download for Form 4
Open official PreForm downloadsForm 4 is a resin 3D printer. PreForm prepares models, supports, material settings and job files. Identify this workflow before choosing a document-print driver or a device firmware file.
Current PreForm builds and OS requirements
| Check | Evidence and next check |
|---|---|
| Release | The release list checked on October 30, 2026 shows PreForm 3.64.2, October 23, 2026, with Windows, Mac ARM64 and Intel links. Listed filenames do not establish installer signatures or successful runtime. |
| Windows | The current download requires Windows 10 64-bit, version 1809 or later. Linked requirements exclude Windows ARM and specify OpenGL 2.1, 4GB RAM (8GB recommended) and the Windows C++ runtime. |
| Mac | Current downloads and requirements specify macOS 13 or later, an Apple Silicon ARM build and a separate Intel-based Mac link. Mac ARM availability does not imply Windows ARM support. |
| Older help | The generic installation article still says macOS 10.12 or later, while current downloads say 13 or later. Form 1+ version 2.20 and the old 32-bit 2.16 release are not established substitutes for Form 4. |
| Roles | Separate PreForm desktop, device firmware and Dashboard management. Current desktop choices are Windows and Mac; descriptions of separate developer/server products do not establish Linux desktop support. |
Exact Form 4 and manual editions
| Check | Evidence and next check |
|---|---|
| Model | This guide covers Form 4 LFD resin printing. Form 4B, 4L and 4BL are separate models. The Form 4 manual excludes biocompatible materials; another model or a material name in a generic screenshot is not approval for this printer. |
| Manual | Both official editions are December 2025 REV 02. The English PDF has 57 pages and the Korean PDF has 56. English PDF page references below count PDF pages, which differ from printed footers and the contents list. |
| Files | English PDF pages 28–30 import STL, OBJ or 3MF into PreForm, prepare orientation/supports, then save and upload a FORM job. Do not substitute a different printer’s USB-stick model-file workflow. |
Check USB/LAN connections and uploading
| Check | Evidence and next check |
|---|---|
| USB | English PDF pages 11, 13 and 23 describe the rear USB-C 2.0 port and USB C-to-A cable to a computer. A direct PC connection is distinct from USB-stick printing. |
| LAN | PDF pages 11 and 22–23 describe Wi-Fi 2.4/5GHz and Ethernet. For local PreForm uploads, check the same LAN or a USB connection. Treat separate cloud remote features as a different path. |
| Discovery | PDF page 22 calls for checking Bonjour on Windows for Wi-Fi/Ethernet discovery after installing PreForm. Pages 29–30 cover the printer list and manual IP entry. Verify the selected device; disabling a firewall is not a universal remedy. |
Separate job upload from printer readiness
These observations follow English PDF pages 14 and 29–31. Automatic consumables checks are distinct from a standalone button self-test or proof that PC installation succeeded.
- Check the selected printer, material and FORM job in PreForm. Record save/upload status separately from the printer’s Queue.
- Read the build-platform, tank and cartridge status and displayed messages. Automatic checks cover accessories, resin temperature/level and debris.
- Distinguish a completed upload from Ready and from an actual started print. Follow prompts only after confirming the fitted parts and cleanliness; record the exact message and stage if a fault remains.
PDF pages 46–47 refer to an official test file and clear result photographs for persistent failures. A current specific test file was not independently verified here, so no button combination or substitute file is presented as a self-test.
Before handling resin or the tank
English PDF pages 15, 17, 31, 33 and 43 require the specified PPE, including non-reactive nitrile gloves, for resin, contaminated surfaces and solvents. Keep the cover closed until completion is indicated and do not look into a powered UV light source.
Cured debris after a failed print can affect the next job. Do not scrape the tank with sharp metal tools. A cleaning sheet removes resin debris; it is not a PC driver test page. Internal disassembly and optical repairs require official support guidance.
Separate exact codes from print symptoms
Code mapping is from English PDF page 46 and Korean PDF page 47. A displayed code alone does not establish a failed part.
| Check | Evidence and next check |
|---|---|
| 6.3 | Cartridge missing: the inserted resin cartridge is not detected. Stop the job and follow the manual’s handling and seating checks. Do not assume PC driver reinstallation is the first remedy. |
| 6.8 / 6.9 | Tank missing: these concern resin-tank detection. Distinguish them from cartridge code 6.3; check seating and provide the exact code and status to support if repeated. |
| Upload | PDF page 46 links an unavailable orange Upload Print icon to LAN connectivity. Check other PreForm instances and save files before restarting the application. |
| Adhesion | PDF page 47 distinguishes orientation/supports, long pauses, tank condition, optics and platform stability. A thin hard-to-remove base is a separate overcompression symptom; do not apply arbitrary calibration values. |
| Surface | PDF page 48 links lines/holes to optical obstructions and poor finish to resin age, debris, flow or optics. Missing geometry should not automatically be classified as a communication fault. |
Next checks by cause and the software route
| Check | Evidence and next check |
|---|---|
| Install / OS | Use this Form 4 official route to check OS, CPU and file role. |
| Upload | Separate USB, LAN, Windows Bonjour and the selected printer. |
| Ready | Record the upload, Queue, Ready and automatic-check stage. |
| Detection | Distinguish cartridge 6.3 from tank 6.8/6.9 detection. |
| Geometry | Compare supports, resin, tank and optical conditions with the manual. |
| Repeated faults | PDF page 43: preserve diagnostic logs and observations before contacting support. A factory reset erases diagnostics, settings, uploaded jobs and network connections; do not make it the first step. Check the current PreForm build. |
