Identify mini Link 3 · FI033W
The exact full guide identifies FI033W / FI033-EN-WW-03. Distinguish mini Link, Link 2, Link+, SQUARE and WIDE. This OLED three-colour exposure printer uses instax mini film, with a 62 × 46 mm image area.
Separate the app from another model’s PC driver
| Item | What to check |
|---|---|
| iOS | The checked Korean App Store lists iOS 16.0 or later. Confirm current requirements for your device, region and store. |
| Android | Guide p.4 lists Android 10+ with Google Play. Treat this as the manual baseline and check current store/device compatibility and app permissions. |
| Windows / Mac | The current official PC selector lists Link WIDE and WIDE 2. It does not establish a mini Link 3 package for Windows, Mac or Linux. |
AiR Studio has separate device requirements; app installation does not guarantee AR support. Camera printing has its own model compatibility chart.

Select mini Link 3 and the bottom identifier in the app
Review initial terms, privacy and permission prompts yourself, then select INSTAX MINI LINK 3 in the app. Hold Power for about one second, match the detected printer to its bottom identifier and use Connect.
| Item | What to check |
|---|---|
| Phone | The print interface is Bluetooth 5.1. The FAQ specifies one connected smartphone at a time. |
| USB-C | The supplied cable is for charging. Charging from a PC does not establish a USB print queue. |
| Reconnect | Check an earlier phone connection and the app/OS permissions. The official reconnection procedure deletes prior pairing, so review it before deciding to pair again. |
Fresh mini film: align the yellow marks and close the door
A mini pack has ten sheets and a black cover. SQUARE and WIDE film do not fit. Opening the door before the film is used exposes it and can cause white prints.
- For a fresh pack, slide and hold the door lock, then open the door.
- Align the pack and printer’s yellow marks; avoid pressing the rear rectangular holes.
- Close the film door.
- Remove the black protective cover after it ejects automatically.
Compare one photo through the app
This ordinary app print consumes film; it is not a standalone diagnostic report. Compare using the already paired phone, a charged printer and correctly loaded film.
- Turn on the printer and open the instax mini Link app.
- Use Add your printer, choose the matching identifier and Connect.
- Choose one image, review edits and use the print control or swipe up.
- Wait until ejection finishes and the printer becomes quiet, then remove the print by its edge.
mini Link 3 not printing: cause checks
| Item | What to check |
|---|---|
| App / connection | Compare selected model, Bluetooth ownership and permissions. Same-model app/download guide |
| Shuts down | Check charge and the roughly one-second Power press. Charging checks |
| White prints | Consider exposure after the door was opened with film remaining. Film handling |
| No ejection | Record the yellow pattern and duration. For a jam, follow the guide’s off/on check; seek service if it persists. Lights |
| Uneven print | Keep the slot clear; do not shake, bend or fold the fresh print. Film checks |
| No reprint | Powering off deletes the last reprint image; turning on does not restore it. Guide p.12 |
Five light conditions: record yellow duration too
| Item | What to check |
|---|---|
| Blue flashing | Indicates firmware updating, rather than an idle indication or numeric print error. |
| Cyan flashing | Image data is transferring to the printer. |
| Magenta pulsing | The guide describes printing/reprinting; the FAQ describes reprinting. |
| Yellow / off in 3 s | Charging failure or low battery. The guide says steady; the current FAQ says blinking. Record the shutdown context and duration. |
| Yellow flashing | A film-ejection error. Distinguish it from yellow followed by shutdown after three seconds. |
These sources describe colours and patterns; no numeric codes are assigned here.
Charging state, PC sleep and film care
Charge fully before first use. The guide gives approximately 1.5–2 hours and a +5 to +40°C charging range. Check the battery with the function button while on, or in the connected app.
| Item | What to check |
|---|---|
| Printer on | Green flashing means charging; steady green means complete; pulsing white means not charging. |
| Printer off | Green flashes while charging. LED off can mean either not charging or complete. |
| PC charging | Connect directly instead of through a hub/keyboard. Sleep pauses charging; wake the PC and reconnect the cable. |
Do not improvise cleaning with alcohol/thinner or disassemble the built-in battery. For smoke, a burnt smell, abnormal heat or water entry, unplug USB-C, switch off and stop use.
