DL3750+ number-matched drivers
In DL3850+ / DL3750+ Driver, match the complete printer number before choosing a file. KA02013 and KA02008 have separate DL3750+ packages.
80-column dot matrix and fitted interfaces
Fujitsu Isotec’s current product page identifies DL3750+ alongside DL3850+. DL3750+ is the 80-column model at 10 cpi; DL3850+ is 136-column. This guide covers DL3750+ only. It prints with a ribbon and impact mechanism, including supported multipart forms up to five parts including the original; it does not use laser toner or thermal-transfer ribbon rolls.
The specification sheet lists parallel, serial and USB interfaces together. The exact manual instead separates parallel-only, parallel plus factory RS-232C, and parallel plus USB with an optional LAN card. Confirm the actual rating label, sockets and fitted card. LAN is available on the parallel-plus-USB configuration; do not promise every port on every unit or invent wireless support. The cut sheet feeder described for the 136-column model is not a DL3750+ feature.
Choose the right physical-number branch
Checked 14 October 2026: the official page maps DL3750+ KA02013 to dl3750_english.zip and KA02008 to dl3750nhc_english.zip, with separate language files. KA02014 and KA02010 are DL3850+ branches. Select the number on the actual printer; do not substitute the similarly named neighbouring package.
The official Printer Driver version sheet, revision 17 updated August 2026, specifically lists DL3750+ (KA02013): Setup Disk V7.8, Windows Printer Driver V1.61 for Windows 10/11 and Server 2016/2019/2022/2025, and DL menu V2.0.3.0. These are different version fields. The table does not establish that V1.61 also applies to KA02008, nor current Windows ARM, macOS or every Linux architecture. The lower Linux table belongs to thermal models, not this dot matrix model.
The manual directs installation through the chosen package’s Readme.txt and a matching emulation. Its driver paragraph spells DLP24C+, while the product sheet and menu table spell Fujitsu DPL24C PLUS; compare the real menu and package instructions. Preserve working queues and MENU1/MENU2 settings, connect only the actual fitted interface, then compare a device self-test with one small host job. No driver archive was downloaded or executed, licence accepted, settings changed or physical print performed during this verification.
LF/FF starts the independent self-test
For the single-sheet test, the manual specifies thickness lever 1, the paper-select lever forward and the left guide fully right. It calls for paper wider than 215.9 mm, then explicitly allows portrait Letter/A4 in that guide position. Follow the illustrated placement to avoid clipping the 80-character pattern.
- With power on, load the supported sheet through the stand with LOAD so it reaches top-of-form, then switch off.
- Hold LF/FF while switching on. Keep it pressed until the printer beeps and the test begins.
- After a dozen or more repeated lines, TEAR OFF pauses the test. The manual removes the sheet by turning the platen knob clockwise; LF/FF does not eject paper in this mode.
- Inspect uniformity and ribbon/thickness settings. ONLINE exits the self-test and returns online.
The test outputs firmware, resident emulations and characters without testing the PC interface. A good device pattern and failed host job directs checks toward port, settings, emulation and this DL3750+ driver. SELF-TST, HEX-DUMP and V-ALMNT are different diagnostics; do not enter DEFAULT or clear stored settings merely to test.
Seven indicator checks
| Indicator condition | Meaning / first check | Help |
|---|---|---|
| ONLINE steady | Ready for host printing; compare the selected menu and actual job. | Details |
| MENU1 / MENU2 steady | Shows the active stored settings, including emulation; it is not a supply error. | Details |
| AREA OVER steady during normal printing | With area control enabled, data outside detected paper edges is ignored while printing continues. | Details |
| PAPER OUT steady | Paper end and load jam can share this indication. Read the actual paper path; do not infer a unique numeric code. | Details |
| PAPER OUT steady + AREA OVER blinking | Eject jam indication: remove/eject the forms or sheet and restore online after resolving the cause. | Details |
| PAPER OUT steady + ONLINE blinking | Paper-select lever changed while paper was loaded; all buttons may be disabled. | Details |
| PAPER OUT blinking + four beeps | Fatal hardware group; compare the separate steady/blinking lamps below and request service if it repeats. | Details |
Five fatal hardware patterns
| Fatal lamp pattern | Documented fault | Help |
|---|---|---|
| ONLINE steady + PAPER OUT blinking | +34 V undervoltage error. | Service |
| MENU1 steady + PAPER OUT blinking | Left end sensor error. | Service |
| MENU2 steady + PAPER OUT blinking | Overload error. | Service |
| AREA OVER steady + PAPER OUT blinking | RAM error. | Service |
| PAPER OUT and AREA OVER both blinking | High voltage error; do not treat AREA OVER blinking as the ordinary steady margin warning. | Service |
Eight printing causes and matching help
| Cause | First check | Matching help |
|---|---|---|
| No output or device test fails | Check power, paper path, ribbon and the real indicator combination first. | Self-test |
| Wrong number / OS driver | Match KA02013 versus KA02008 and the selected package requirements. | DL3750+ drivers |
| Wrong interface or host port | Use the actually fitted port and one interface cable type at a time. | Fitted connection |
| Garbled characters or unexpected spacing | Compare active MENU1/MENU2 emulation, serial settings and application line endings. | Emulation / serial |
| Paper will not load or eject | Match single-sheet versus continuous-forms lever and sensors; identify load versus eject jam. | Paper path |
| Multipart smudges or faint copies | Compare actual form thickness, ribbon fit/wear and the applicable lever table. | Ribbon / thickness |
| Lost edge data or wrong top margin | Compare paper alignment, detected edges, top-of-form and software margins. | Margins |
| Four beeps, fatal lights or power-off fault | Record the exact lamp combination; persistent hardware faults need service. | Service evidence |
Use the fitted port and one cable type
The connection procedure switches off both printer and computer first. Parallel uses its clipped connector and a shielded cable up to 3 m; the optional RS-232C branch uses its screw-secured connector and up to 15 m. USB belongs to the corresponding rear configuration. Do not connect multiple interface cable types simultaneously; with LAN connected, the guide excludes parallel and USB use.
As common host checks, compare the intended queue/port, paused job and cable before reinstalling software. For fitted LAN, use the actual card’s documentation and network address, not a sample IP or a different card’s configuration tool. A LAN utility listed elsewhere on the shared page does not prove that card is installed.
Match the active menu and serial settings
MENU1/MENU2 can store different emulation and page settings. For wrong characters, the troubleshooting table compares printer and application emulation and, on RS-232C, their serial settings. DPL24C PLUS, Epson ESC/P2 and IBM XL24E are alternatives. Check the active menu before changing settings; do not paste old MS-DOS commands into a modern PC as a universal fix.
Separate paper end, load jam, eject jam and lever error
Paper end needs suitable paper loaded. Load jam means the expected top-of-form was not detected: check the actual sheet/tractor path and reload; eject jam means paper still appears present after ejection. If the paper-select lever was moved with forms loaded, restore its original position; when changing from a loaded sheet toward forms, remove the sheet. Do not force disabled buttons.
Before switching forms to sheets, park the forms with LOAD and move the selector forward; before loading forms, remove the sheet and move it rearward. Match holes to both tractor pins, close the holders and align the incoming/outgoing stacks. For a jam, power off and unplug, use thickness position D and let the head cool before moving it. Restore the correct thickness after clearing. Inaccessible or repeated jams need service.
The exact label guidance uses continuous backing only. Do not feed labels backwards with LOAD, use tear-off retraction, or leave curled labels around the platen. Those restrictions differ from ordinary continuous forms. Avoid stapled, creased or variable-thickness media.
Margin warning differs from a fatal pattern
Ordinary steady AREA OVER is associated with enabled area control; outside-edge characters may be omitted while the printer continues. Stop the application, take the printer offline and compare paper alignment and margins before restarting the affected page. Top margin combines top-of-form, the application margin and TOP-MRG; check all three. Dark or preprinted stock can confuse edge detection, so consult its media procedure rather than guessing a driver failure.
Thickness, ribbon and platen cleaning
The general copy table gives lever 1–5 for one through five parts and counts carbon interleaves as parts. The continuous-forms drawing gives ranges such as 1–2 for one part and 4–5 for five parts. Use the table for the actual media, with D reserved for ribbon/jam clearance. Faint or smeared output can result from wrong gap, worn/misfed ribbon or its installation; compare the device pattern before replacing software.
For maintenance, switch off printer and computer, unplug and let the head cool. The manual uses a soft damp exterior cloth and gentle soft-brush vacuum cleaning without pressure on the carriage flat cable. The platen/rollers use the supplier-recommended platen cleaner followed by drying. Alcohol is expressly excluded on the platen because it can harden the rubber; do not borrow a thermal-printer head-cleaning recipe. Persistent poor motion or missing dots needs the dealer.
Fatal patterns and faults with no lights
Page 7-11 groups hardware failures with four beeps and the five patterns above. Its general text says ONLINE goes off, but the undervoltage row specifically lists ONLINE steady; use the complete table and record the observed combination. Print-head, carriage-motor, line-feed-motor and +34 V overvoltage faults can instead switch power off with no error indication. A dark panel does not exclude hardware trouble. The guide permits an off/on transient check; a recurring fault requires the dealer, not repeated resets or internal repair.
