Connection and installation

1. Confirm exact model, OS/CPU, installation rights, region/terms, power, toner, paper and preserved queues/jobs/network settings.
2. For USB, the model guide turns the device off before connecting the computer USB interface, then powers it on. Do not use the USB memory host port. Extract the compatible current KX package and follow its actual installation and connection prompts; old Product Library DVD screens do not guarantee current ZIP contents.
3. Choose the actual device/port and print a test page. Restart only when prompted. Install compatible TWAIN separately for scanning; TWAIN Driver Setting / Add selects the real model and connection, with the actual IP for network or USB-specific fields. Test print and scan separately.
4. Ethernet: connect the network port while powered off, then power on. System Menu/Counter / System/Network / Network / Wired Network Settings / TCP/IP Setting / IPv4: use approved DHCP or administrator-assigned IP/subnet/gateway. Restart Network after changes as directed; do not copy sample addresses.
5. Wi-Fi: System Menu/Counter / System/Network / Network / Wi-Fi Settings. Use Quick Setup Wizard / Available Network or approved Custom Setup SSID/authentication/key. WPS push-button applies only to a compatible permitted access point. The old Wi-Fi Setup Tool requires a prior local LAN or Wi-Fi Direct connection; do not claim it is included in current KX.
6. For Wi-Fi/Wi-Fi Direct print ports, the model guide requires the actual IP rather than hostname. Keep computer and printer on the intended approved LAN; do not disable protections or reset unrelated settings.

Not detected/offline: check power, cables, actual model/queue/port/IP and paused jobs; reload device discovery after correcting the connection. Wireless install failure: compare IP port rather than hostname. Scan failure: confirm compatible separate TWAIN, actual registered model and connection, then test in a TWAIN application. Blank copies: platen originals face down, document-processor originals face up. Paper jams: follow the exact location procedure, avoid hot parts and do not force paper. Persistent faults require exact-code official support/service, not mass queue deletion or factory reset.
