Official downloads for the exact G4 Autoprinter
Open official G4 Autoprinter downloadsThis guide covers the G4A-1000 automated disc-surface printer. Find the Windows and Mac files in the official page’s Software section. Keep this model distinct from G4 Disc Publisher installation material and compare the OS differences below.
Compare each file with its own OS description
| Check | Evidence and next check |
|---|---|
| Windows driver | The Software listing identifies Disc Printer Installer 1.1.4, 14.9MB, dated 26 March 2010, with an XP/Vista/7 32/64-bit description. Manual page 6 instead limits XP SP2 to 32-bit and lists Vista/7/8 in both architectures. Do not treat the broader download wording as an XP 64-bit guarantee. |
| Mac driver | The Software listing gives Installer 2.1, 39.8MB, dated 15 April 2010, for OS 10.5/10.6/10.7/10.8/10.9. Product specifications say Intel Mac OS 10.5–10.10; Mac manual page 6 literally says “10.6 or 10.10.” These are different statements. |
| Design apps | SureThing 5.2.685.0 for Windows and DiscLabel 6.3.1 for Mac prepare disc artwork. Opening an image does not establish that the G4 print driver is installed or detected. |
| Your current computer | The product specification also lists Windows 8.x, while the download description is narrower. The checked sources do not establish Windows 10/11, ARM, Apple Silicon or current macOS compatibility. Ask the manufacturer about your actual OS and CPU. Listing an old OS does not promise ongoing security support. |
The installer link labels and destinations were checked; ZIP contents, signatures and runtime operation were not tested. Do not turn a separate Windows 8 note into instructions to disable signature checks on a current OS.
Separate USB, power and the print queue
| Check | Evidence and next check |
|---|---|
| USB 2.0 | The exact manuals specify USB 2.0. Windows page 9 places the installer before connecting the printer and requires its guided order. Confirm OS support before following that legacy installation flow. These sources do not establish LAN discovery, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth pairing for this model. |
| Two power controls | Check both the rear AC switch and front power button. Windows page 20 checks the right-hand green power light; rear power alone does not establish readiness. |
| Windows queue | Windows page 20 checks the active Microboards G4 queue, offline selection and correct port. Windows Start/Settings wording appearing in the Mac troubleshooting text was not presented as a Mac menu sequence. |
Compare the Windows Toolbox test with your artwork
Print Test Disc on Windows manual page 16 is a PC-based Microboards Printer Toolbox function. It is not a standalone front-panel test and does not bypass the PC connection or driver.
- Load an unprinted, inkjet-printable 120mm disc.
- Select the actual Microboards G4 in the Windows Toolbox and use Print Test Disc.
- Compare the test image and your artwork using the same media. If the test prints but artwork is clipped, compare page size and printable area below. This comparison is a general diagnostic interpretation.
Check disc loading and image placement
Windows page 8 and Mac page 10 show the first five or six discs flat, followed by discs angled against the wide input post, with a 50-disc limit. Use inkjet-printable 120mm surfaces; 8cm and business-card discs are excluded. A full output bin also stops further printing.
Mac pages 10 and 14 check Microboards G4 and CD/DVD 120mm in page setup, with 120×120mm artwork. DiscLabel’s Media list uses the shared Microboards PF-3, G4 and GX-Series entry; verify the actual G4 again in the final printer selection.
For printing beyond the surface, distinguish page size, inner/outer printable diameters and position alignment. Mac page 12 warns against extending diameters off the disc because ink can accumulate. Windows page 11 adjusts Top/Left alignment against a test result and its on-screen diagram; do not copy another unit’s offsets.
Use the specified cartridges and wait for priming
Windows page 7 places V102C color on the left and V101B black on the right, with protective coverings removed and the front cover closed. Do not force the latches. Wait approximately 70–80 seconds for cartridge priming before submitting a job.
Windows page 20 describes successive warnings when any color reaches 10%, 5% and 3% or less. These percentages are not error codes. Check the affected cartridge when colors disappear or quality declines.
When Out of Ink cancels the current job, Windows page 21 gives a separate recovery order: replace the identified cartridge, close the cover and press Cancel. Wait for priming and disc ejection before selecting OK in the message. Keep this conditional recovery distinct from an ordinary cartridge replacement.
The manual’s Clear Print Queue utility removes pending jobs for every printer on the PC. Check that impact before using it for a single G4 job.
Record the actual light and message
| Check | Evidence and next check |
|---|---|
| Power/Activity | Green flashing indicates activity such as printing or initialization (Windows p.8); flashing alone is not necessarily a fault. |
| Media Light | Flashing during printing can mean that no disc was detected. Check supply and loading before following the manual’s Media indicator-button instruction (pp.8,21). |
| Ink Light | This indicates low or empty ink. Compare the PC Low Ink/Out of Ink wording and the identified cartridge (pp.7–8,20–21). |
| Output Bin | Steady illumination means a full output bin; flashing is a roller-cleaning reminder (p.8). Distinguish unloading finished discs from a feed problem requiring maintenance. |
No Printers Connected means that the Toolbox has not detected a connected printer (Windows p.21). Check power and USB first; for a driver cause, return to this G4 official file route. Distinguish Disc Loading error from failure to advance, recording loading, output-bin and roller conditions. Follow the manufacturer’s dedicated Cleaning Disc/utility instructions for rollers.
Choose the next check by symptom
| Check | Evidence and next check |
|---|---|
| PC detection | This G4 official driver route identifies the correct model and file. |
| Changed OS | Compare each legacy OS listing and confirm the actual CPU with the manufacturer. |
| Power / port | Check rear/front power, USB and queue separately. |
| Artwork only | Compare the Windows Toolbox test with the original artwork result. |
| Feed / clipping | Check 120mm loading, diameters and alignment using the same disc type. |
| Lights / ink | Record the actual light and wording and the cartridge priming wait. Give official support the model and symptoms for repeated mechanical faults. |

Checked 30 October 2026. The 22-page Windows PDF cover says Version 1.01 despite v1.1 in its filename; the 17-page Mac PDF cover says Version 1.1. Fifteen whole pages covering identity, OS scope and relevant procedures were reviewed. Conflicting OS descriptions and Windows menu wording in the Mac document were kept separate. No hardware printing, installer execution or firmware change was performed.
