PR-C151 driver downloads
Official regional request/list pages; this site does not host the installer.
PR-C151 is a 300 dpi direct-to-card printer with an integrated card-turning mechanism. The Japanese guide documents USB 2.0 and Ethernet 100BASE-TX, not a Wi-Fi setup procedure. Check the unit’s regional label, fitted encoder and consumables before applying another region’s specifications.
Choose a regional driver
Checked 17 October 2026. Canon Finetech Nisca lists the Japanese PR-C151 as sold until the end of 2022 and provides a public Japanese operation guide. The separate North American Team NiSCA website announces that its brand was sunsetted on 31 July 2026 and retains support downloads. These are regional statements; they do not establish the end of all NiSCA manufacturing or identical software availability everywhere.
| Role | Listed version | Scope / official route |
|---|---|---|
| Japan · current driver | Japanese 1.10.3 · Windows 11 | The manufacturer requires prior registration to request the driver. Open the official request route. No registration was submitted for this guide; package CPU, language and actual installation must be checked. |
| Japan · older driver | Japanese 1.10 | The page lists older Windows versions separately and says its Windows 10-and-earlier packages are outside support. Do not treat that historical row as the Windows 11 package. |
| North America · driver listing | 1.01 Build 195 · ZIP 15.76 MB | The exact PR-C151 tab lists this Windows driver and an XP INF-certificate-processing note. It differs from Japanese 1.10.3. The file request asks for email and terms consent; none was submitted. Review the PR-C151 tab. |
| North America · firmware | 1.3 · ZIP 944.58 KB | Firmware is a separate listing, not the Windows driver. This guide does not recommend a firmware update or establish cross-region applicability. |
Connections and Printer ID
Use the rear USB Type-B port or Ethernet connector shown in the exact manual (pp16,20–21). Printer ID is a system-specific identifier, not an IP address: the manual gives IDs 0–15 and factory value 5, and warns against duplicate IDs when multiple NiSCA printers share a PC. Have the card-system operator compare existing IDs, queue and network settings; do not reset them as a generic fix.

Output checks and EXE Key Print
Confirm the ready indication and compare a normal card-system job with a Windows queue test page as a common PC check. EXE Key Print is not a standalone factory test: it repeats data already held in printer memory, depends on a user-mode setting, and may be disabled by the card system to prevent duplicate issuance (p24). Do not enable it simply to diagnose an unprinted card. A failed PC job alone does not prove a faulty driver.
Official Japanese guide p24 / PDF 29Four LED conditions
| Indicator | Meaning / check |
|---|---|
| READY · blue, steady | The printer is waiting and ready; confirm the LCD ready message before sending a job. |
| READY · blue, flashing | Communication is in progress. This is different from the red error indication. |
| ERROR · red | Read the actual LCD message and the displayed error/detail code before retrying. |
| POWER · blue | Power-on indication; it does not prove that the PC queue or ribbon is correct. |
Nine cause checks
The manual shows placeholders for the LCD error and detail code, not a complete numeric-code table. Record the real values from the printer; no numeric mapping is invented here. After correcting the underlying condition, the guide uses CLEAR to return to ready. Holding CLEAR also resets and clears buffered data; this guide does not prescribe that as a routine driver fix.
| Message / condition | Check | Next step / evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Card Empty | Load the correct cards, align their trailing edges and replace the card weight. Handle cards by their edges. | Official Japanese guide p32 / PDF 37 / Official Japanese guide p50 / PDF 55 |
| Front / Top cover open | Close the indicated cover fully. The LCD can reveal a second condition after the first is corrected; do not assume the changed message is a new driver problem. | Official Japanese guide p49 / PDF 54 / Official Japanese guide p50 / PDF 55 |
| Ribbon Empty | Replace the exhausted ribbon with the correct type and seat the cartridge. | Official Japanese guide p34 / PDF 39 / Official Japanese guide p50 / PDF 55 |
| Ribbon Type Incorrect | Compare the loaded ribbon with the printer’s ribbon selection. Do not change unrelated image or system settings. | Official Japanese guide p51 / PDF 56 |
| Ribbon Wind up Miss | Check loading, ribbon type, damaged spool and unsuitable/reprinted cards. Repeated winding or adhesion faults need dealer support. | Official Japanese guide p51 / PDF 56 / Official Japanese guide p52 / PDF 57 |
| Check Ink Ribbon | The manual describes this when a ribbon fault is cleared without first inspecting the cartridge. Inspect and correct the ribbon condition before CLEAR. | Official Japanese guide p49 / PDF 54 / Official Japanese guide p50 / PDF 55 |
| Card Jam · named area | Record the exact feed/turn/print/encoder area and code; follow that area’s procedure. Different areas have different power and ribbon-removal sequences; do not force a card or use one universal reset. | Official Japanese guide p49 / PDF 54 / Official Japanese guide p53 / PDF 58 |
| Temperature out of Range | Check the operating environment against the guide; stop repeated attempts if the condition persists. | Official Japanese guide p50 / PDF 55 |
| PC cannot send data | Compare USB/Ethernet, the selected queue, regional driver and duplicate Printer IDs. Queue/OS checks are common host diagnostics, not proof that every hardware error needs reinstallation. | PR-C151 driver download guide / Official Japanese guide p58 / PDF 63 |
Cards and ribbon handling
Use approved, clean cards and the matching ribbon. The guide warns against printing again over a card already printed by this printer. While ribbon remains, use RIBBON CHANGE and wait for the removable-ribbon indication before opening the front cover; this short operation differs from holding MENU to enter user mode. Do not pull out the cartridge while the printhead is down (p34). Head cleaning requires power off, unplugging and a cool head; follow the specified material and procedure, not a generic solvent recipe (p40).

The main procedural source is the 64-page Japanese PR-C151 operation guide (printed page = PDF page minus 5); eighteen complete pages were visually reviewed. Its 2019 PDF metadata is not a current driver release date. Japanese and North American driver versions are kept separate. The public North American brochure differs from the Japanese manual in some regional specifications; no universal voltage, weight or card-thickness claim is made. No driver request, email submission, terms acceptance, installer/firmware execution, signature/CPU inspection, current OS installation or physical printing was performed. A PR53xx Mac listing is not evidence of a PR-C151 Mac driver; current PR-C151 Mac/Linux/ARM support remains unverified.
