Choose official A11 Prime software

The official page has A11 selected, then lists Prime and Standard separately. Expand A11 Prime Windows Driver for the actual variant, or the relevant CUPS/POS component. The category is not a preselected OS, CPU or firmware revision. Read the package conditions before installing.

This guide covers A11 Prime using the official A11-Prime-E Rev002 manual and the separate Prime driver row. It does not register A11 Standard as another verified model or apply Prime button sequences to it. Check the actual unit and installed interface before choosing software. Manual cover (manual list)

Match software to its role

PartScope
Windows variantsA11 Prime Windows Driver and A11 Standard Windows Driver are separate rows dated 7 January 2025. Their current version, payload CPU, signature trust and supported OS builds were not verified here. Do not choose Standard merely because its product picture looks similar.
Older Prime packageA separate older Prime Windows Driver & Manual row lists V1.0.6, release 21 June 2016, with a 6 April 2021 list date. Do not assign that old version to the newer 2025 row or treat the upload date as its release date.
Mac / Linux CUPSThe A11 CUPS Driver row lists v1.0.2, MAC / Linux and generic 32bit/64bit labels, dated 14 March 2022. Those labels do not establish ARM64, Apple Silicon, a current macOS release or a particular CUPS/distro runtime.
Prime Virtual COMThe PRIME VCOM row lists V1.0.2, release 1 July 2020 and list date 6 April 2021. Its OS text names Windows 7, POSReady 7 and Windows 10, 32/64 bit. A virtual-port component differs from a print driver; match the actual POS application and port mode.
POS / tools / mobileOlder PRIME OPOS and JPOS V1.0.0 rows have a 9 May 2016 release date. Network configuration, firmware download and utility entries serve other roles. The A11 product names Android/iOS SDK support; that is not proof of a consumer phone app or AirPrint. No installer was downloaded or executed.

Check the fitted interface board

PortCheck
Fitted rear boardThe current A11 product lists USB 2.0, RJ-45 serial and Ethernet 10/100. Prime Rev002 p.5 instead calls Ethernet/Bluetooth/WLAN options and pp.8–9 show different rear boards, including a DB9 serial drawing. These sources describe differing configurations; inspect the installed board rather than promising every port on every Prime. pp.5, 8–9 (manual list)
Connector labelsUSB Type B is the host-data connector in the manual. An RJ-45-shaped SERIAL port is not the labelled Ethernet interface; DK is the cash-drawer connector. Do not choose by plug shape or connect a telephone/modem line to DK. pp.8–10 (manual list)
Cable and network checksArrange cable changes with the POS operator; the manual requires both host and printer off before cabling. On the documented Ethernet board, its separate Function Key obtains IP/MAC information; it is not the front FEED button. Keep the report private and use the matching Ethernet/network guide. This is not a network reset. pp.8–9 (manual list)

Keep roll and printable width distinct

The manual specifies 79.5±0.5mm roll width and 72mm printable width for 3-inch use; 2-inch printing is 48mm wide. The 58mm setup uses a fitted partition. Page 14 specifically warns against changing back from used 58mm stock to 3-inch stock because of print-quality effects. Do not treat the partition as a freely reversible width switch. pp.13–14, 20 (manual list)

Stop incoming data before opening the roll cover. Follow the illustrated thermal-paper winding direction, remove the old core, leave a short end outside and press the cover centre closed. Do not open the cover during operation or use rolls glued to the core. A locked cutter/cover needs the exact jam diagrams or dealer support; this guide does not reproduce the screwdriver/knob procedure. pp.11–14 (manual list)

A11 Prime not printing: device checks

Self-test: brief FEED at the prompt

  1. Stop incoming POS work, fit suitable paper correctly, close the cover and start with printer power off.
  2. Hold FEED while powering on. The self-test prints current printer status, including the ROM version, then waits at a printed mode-selection prompt.
  3. For continued self-test printing, use a brief FEED press of less than one second at that prompt. Holding for one second or longer selects VMSM settings instead; do not hold it to try to force the test to finish.
  4. The continued test prints a completion line, cuts the paper and returns to normal print mode automatically. Record the report and compare an operator-approved host job without changing settings.

The self-test text refers to a blinking paper signal while waiting, but the panel diagram labels POWER and ERROR only. Record the actual indicator and printed prompt; do not invent a third lamp or a universal fault-flash code. The one-second boundary concerns the mode-selection prompt, not a guessed startup hold duration. pp.13, 16–17 (manual list)

Two named panel indicators

LEDMeaning
POWER · greenThe panel section says this lights when power is on. It does not by itself prove that the POS port, software or current job is correct. p.13 (manual list)
ERROR · redThe panel section gives errors such as no paper or a partly open cover. It does not map each cause to an exclusive flash count. Compare the actual cover, roll and report state before changing drivers. p.13 (manual list)

Eight conditional printing checks

If the table extends beyond the screen, scroll it sideways.

SymptomCheckGuide
No POWER indicationCompare the supplied adapter, mains connection and printer power connection. Use the specified supply; a USB data connection does not replace the documented power arrangement.Guide
ERROR redCheck actual roll and cover state; these are the panel section’s examples, not unique numeric error codes.Guide
Self-test pausesRead the printed selection prompt. Continue with FEED under one second; holding longer opens settings.Guide
Report works, host job failsCommon host check: compare exact A11 Prime queue/component, actual port, OS and CPU conditions before reinstalling.Guide
Serial text is wrongCommon host check: compare actual application/queue serial settings and the installed interface. Do not copy the manual’s default baud/code-page table into a working POS system.Guide
Wrong receipt widthCompare roll, fitted partition and app print width. Observe the manual’s 58mm-to-3-inch warning.Guide
Two columns of hex / ASCIIThis can be the documented diagnostic dump mode. Let printing finish and coordinate the documented power-off/on exit with the operator.Guide
Jam or locked coverStop jobs and follow the exact model jam diagrams or dealer guidance. Do not force the cover or copy another printer’s cutter repair.Guide

Settings and dump are separate modes

VMSM is a settings menu for serial parameters, density, speed, cutter, buzzers, code page and media sensing. Its menu numbers are choices, not error codes. It includes save/apply actions, so do not experiment with button counts while diagnosing a receipt failure. Record any changes and consult the operator if the settings menu was entered accidentally. Hexadecimal dumping is a separate open-cover diagnostic branch; this guide does not prescribe entering it. If it is already active, the manual says to finish printing, power off and power on to leave it. Protect pending POS work first. pp.16–19 (manual list)

Record the actual fault

Record A11 Prime on the unit, fitted board, POWER/ERROR state, printed prompt/ROM report and recent paper or software changes. Redact customer and network details. No numeric fault-code table was verified in this 21-page manual. Persistent faults or a locked cutter require dealer assessment. For weak print, first compare the thermal-paper direction and media; the cleaning appendix is a separate head/roller maintenance procedure, not a reason to run driver or firmware tools. pp.3, 14, 21 (manual list)

Official sources and verification scope

Verified 18 October 2026 from the official A11 product and selected A11 driver/manual lists, plus all 21 rendered pages of A11-Prime-E Rev002. Open User Manual-EN in the manual list, then its visible Download button; the received filename is A11_Prime_User_manual_PBUM-E.pdf. The file server asks users to download from POSBANK, so references here open that official list. Its list date is 27 May 2026; PDF creation metadata is 4 July 2022, a different field. Page 7 has a Standard caption inside the Prime guide; it is not evidence to register Standard or assume a shared fitted board. No installer, firmware, configuration, physical test or cabling action was executed.
