Match the device label to LX500. The shared guide separates LX500c’s cutter and RX500’s RFID; those features are not assumed here. This is an inkjet label printer with USB. Manual p.1 / Manual p.4

Windows Snapdragon is explicitly excluded

Primera’s linked requirements article excludes Windows ARM/Snapdragon and identifies Intel/AMD x86/x64. In Windows Settings → System → About, check the processor/system type before downloading. That restriction is about Windows; do not apply it to Apple Silicon by name alone. The same article excludes iOS/Android and ChromeOS as host platforms. Official computer requirements

USB setup: compare the device path before changing software

  1. Common preparation: save the existing queue, paper-size and connection settings. Confirm LX500 and the OS on the official support page.
  2. Use the rear USB data port. Follow the selected package’s connection prompts. Manual p.4
  3. Common verification: select the intended queue and actual label dimensions in both the app and printer settings; print one small intended job. Record the result before further changes.

Indicators and media sensing

Power marks readiness; Ink Low warns at 10% or less. Tear off printed labels before Unload. Match Die Cut, Reflective or Continuous sensing to the stock; sensor position matters. Manual p.3 / Manual p.17

LX500 label printing: eight checks

Separate software/host failures from media, alignment and ink. The rows cite the mapped manual or current official knowledge base. No numeric fault code or unsupported blink sequence is invented.

Mac Filter Failed: check the cartridge as well as the driver

Primera’s article 55769 links LX500’s current driver and specifies cartridge 053374 for the new driver; the older LX500 53376 is excluded. It also lists Rosetta as a step for Apple Silicon and warns that updated drivers may not suit older macOS. Its “close printer utility” advice explicitly applies to Disc Publishers, not label printers. Official Filter Failed article

Record the exact queue message, installed package, OS and cartridge number first. A reinstall or removal affects the existing setup; preserve it before following the manufacturer’s full procedure. Use this LX500 driver download guide to choose the matching package. No software, security setting or cartridge was changed during this review.

Official sources and verification limits

Official product index, exact download listing, two support articles and the 79-page manual were checked on 2026-10-15. Actual printed page numbers map to PDF page +5. Eleven full manual pages were visually reviewed; screenshots inside the old manual do not establish current installer versions. No installer, firmware update, physical printing test or security-warning bypass was performed. Model coverage is limited to the exact LX500.
