SATO CL4NX Plus driver download
Open the model page, then choose Windows or Linux/Mac under Software.
Check the installed connections and print method
CL4NX Plus is a 4-inch industrial label printer. Its standard host interfaces include USB Type B, Ethernet, RS-232C and IEEE1284; wireless LAN and Bluetooth are optional. Wired and wireless LAN cannot operate together. Turn off both printer and host before connecting or disconnecting interface cables.
NFC supports setup handover; do not select it as a Windows USB print port. Inspect the installed options and actual connector.
Thermal transfer needs ribbon; direct thermal uses thermal media without ribbon. Match the media and print method before diagnosing blank labels or a ribbon error.
Choose the matching software and resolution
On 2026-10-11, the official Windows driver page lists CL4NX Plus 203/305/609 dpi and version 10.6.26 Build 28299. Select the resolution fitted to your unit. The current package lists Windows 10/11 and Server 2016/2019/2022/2025; Windows ARM computers are excluded. Firmware and monitoring utilities are separate components.
The model support page also links Linux/Mac CUPS packages. Check that package's platform and architecture instructions rather than assuming every current macOS, Linux or ARM system is supported.

Print settings from the printer
In Settings, open Tools → Test Print → Configure List. Check the required media width and label length, then use the start button shown in the illustrated Configure List instructions. This prints the printer's settings without a computer job. If it also fails, check the displayed code and media first; if it works, investigate the computer connection and software.
Match the label sensor before calibrating
Under Printing → Sensor Type, Gap uses the transmissive sensor and I-Mark uses the reflective sensor (media examples and menu). For detection problems, follow Printing → Advanced → Calibrate and its sensor-level guidance. Available calibration options depend on installed accessories. Do not disable label sensing simply to hide an error.
Six documented errors and the next check
| Code or symptom | First check | Help |
|---|---|---|
| 1007 · Head Open | Unlock and lock the print head again. An unresolved head-open sensor fault requires SATO support. | Head-lock procedure |
| 1008 · Out of Paper | Check missing or incorrectly loaded media, a jam, sensor contamination and sensor level. Follow the loading/calibration procedure. | Paper and sensor causes |
| 1009 · Ribbon End | In thermal-transfer use, check missing, spent or incorrectly loaded ribbon. Follow the ribbon path; persistent sensor trouble needs support. | Ribbon-loading procedure |
| 1010 · Media Error | Compare job label size with the actual label and check sensor level. This error is reported when Check Media Size is enabled. | Media-size checks |
| 1028 · Gap Not Found | Check skewed media, labels stuck to the sensor, the selected sensor type and its level. | Gap detection checks |
| 1035 · I-mark Not Found | Check media tracking, sensor contamination, I-Mark sensor selection and sensor level. | I-mark detection checks |
| Device test works; computer job fails | Check cable and interface settings first, then match this model, installed resolution and OS driver. Common PC checks include the selected printer and paused queue. | This model driver guide |
SATO’s data-sent/no-output checklist checks the cable and interface settings before the driver. If the listed remedies fail, contact SATO technical support. The six codes above are a focused selection; other codes require their own official manual entry.
