TP20M: tube diameter, label width and print width differ

TP20M is a 300dpi portable thermal-transfer tube printer. Label widths are 6/9/12mm; effective print width is 8mm. PVC and round heat-shrink tubes are specified by diameter φ2–φ8mm, not flat heat-shrink width.

For φ8 material, the manual requires soft tubing that rollers can flatten at 25–35°C. Do not use oversized or hard sleeves. General operation is 15–35°C. The Media key table lists tube choices φ2/3/4/6; it does not supply an φ8 menu recipe. Check the fitted material with manufacturer guidance.

Distinguish the TP20M editor from a separate driver

SupvanEditor(E)The TP20M product DOWNLOAD links this PC editor. The shared catalog labels it SupvanEditor(E)2.4.22, 100M, 2026-04-09. These are website labels, not verified payload version, signature or current Windows/CPU compatibility.
SUPRINTThe TP20M manual names SUPRINT. Use its QR or search Google Play/App Store for SUPRINT. Current app version, minimum OS and installation were not verified.
Driver and manualChoose TP20M User Manual under the product page’s DOWNLOAD. A PC editor is distinct from a separately verified print driver. Catalog drivers for TP76E/TP80E do not establish TP20M support; these sources do not establish macOS, Linux or ARM compatibility.

PDF page 17 (printed 14) says to extract the PC package before installation. No installer was downloaded or run for this guide. Keep the model-linked editor separate from files labeled for other TP printers.

Keyboard, USB and Bluetooth connection scope

On-device keyboardEdit and print on the device. A short keyboard sample helps separate a PC/app problem from media or consumable problems.
USB 2.0The official specification provides USB 2.0 for PC use. Follow the editor linked from TP20M and the manual’s PC section. Do not transfer a charging-only mobile label printer’s limitations to this model.
Bluetooth 5.0Follow the manual’s SUPRINT app connection. Fn+Space accesses the device Bluetooth setting. Wi-Fi/Ethernet are not documented in this TP20M specification.

Use separate tube/ribbon and label loading paths

  1. Stop printing and open the top cover. Before removal, unlock the print-head pressure knob, then remove the consumable in the reverse direction of loading.
  2. For tubes, seat the ribbon cassette; feed the tube left to right through the cutter. Seat it fully at the bottom as illustrated before locking the head.
  3. Labels use an alternative loading path: extend the leading edge more than 1cm, press the cassette into place and lock the head. Do not combine both loading branches.
  4. Close the cover, select the actual material and size with Media, check the display and start with a short sample. Do not open the cover during printing or force material out.

Use the diagrams on PDF pages 8–9 (printed 5–6). Wrong material or size can make faint, clipped or incorrect-length output look like a software fault.

Compare a short keyboard print with PC/app output

  1. Load correctly, match Media type/size and enter a short phrase on the keyboard. Power uses a continuous hold; no fixed hold duration is supplied here.
  2. Open Print, set the required copies/range and confirm with OK to start. Esc stops an active print job.
  3. When printing finishes, use the manual full-cut handle and inspect the result. This is an ordinary keyboard sample, not a diagnostic report or self-test button combination.

These device functions come from PDF pages 11 and 15 (printed 8 and 12); physical printing/cutting was not tested.

Connect the exact TP20M in SUPRINT

  1. Use the TP20M manual’s QR or find SUPRINT in the app store; enable phone Bluetooth.
  2. Open the app and choose Connect Printer.
  3. Select TP20M in the discovered list and choose Connect; do not substitute another TP model.
  4. Review requested Bluetooth/location permissions; the manual’s Android illustration requests location access. Check the connected Bluetooth icon on the device, then try a simple phrase on the fitted material.

Based on the TP20M illustrations on PDF page 16 (printed 13). The shared website’s G10E/E10/T50M/G7M QR label is not the TP20M app mapping.

Check the warning, loading and actual output first

Screen warnings and print-quality causes are different. Compare keyboard printing before choosing a branch below.

Five documented screen warnings

ItemCheck
Battery LowLow battery: recharge or use the product’s specified power adapter.
Read supplies failureConsumable data was not detected. Check installation and original SUPVAN supplies; contact service if it persists.
The cover is openThe cover may be open or its sensor faulty. Close it correctly; use service if the warning remains. Keep it closed while printing.
Read supplies failure, Please replaceCorrect consumable information could not be read. Check installation/original supplies and seek service if unresolved.
End of media, Please replaceThe device detected exhausted media. Replace it and check for consumable installation errors.

Six cause-based checks

ItemCheck
Only PC printing failsCompare a keyboard sample, then check TP20M’s linked PC editor, USB and manual procedure. Do not assume a driver for another TP model applies. Check details
App cannot find TP20MCheck phone Bluetooth, permissions and the exact TP20M selection; compare changed app screens with manufacturer guidance. Check details
Supply-read / exhausted-media warningRead the exact warning and inspect cassette, ribbon and media installation. Do not merge distinct messages into an invented numeric code. Check details
Cover warning persistsIf it remains after correct closure, seek service for the sensor or related fault; do not print with the cover open. Check details
Faint or incomplete outputCheck hard/dirty tubing, ribbon wrinkles/alignment, oversized text, material/type mismatch, temperature and density. Refer a damaged head to service. Check details
Actual length differs from settingMatch the actual material first, then consult Segment Length Calibration in the manual. A factory reset is not a general correction. Check details

Faint or incomplete output: material, ribbon and head

The cause table on PDF page 19 distinguishes material, ribbon, text size, temperature and density. Follow head-care instructions on PDF page 18 (printed 15) and the safety notes.

  1. Switch off and disconnect external power. Let the head cool; keep fingers and metal objects away from the hot head.
  2. Gently clean the head and rubber roller with a swab lightly moistened with alcohol. Do not pour liquid or dismantle forcibly. Follow the manual’s diagram for blade care; use service if unsure.
  3. Let it dry fully, then load the actual material/ribbon correctly and check. Do not simply maximize density: the manual warns that excessive density at normal temperature can break ribbon.
