B-EX4T3 is a 600 dpi industrial thermal-transfer label printer with a flat print head. This guide uses Owner’s Manual 0201 / EO1-33114, including B-EX4T3-HS12-QM/CN-R (p. 25), and the exact official product and package listings checked 2026-10-14. B-EX4T1/T2 settings are not substituted for this model.
Use the exact B-EX4T3 download listing
The European manufacturer page currently lists TPCL Windows Driver 2024.2 M-1.E and explicitly includes B-EX4T3 in Related to. Its displayed OS line is Windows 10/11, 32-bit and 64-bit, plus Server 2012/2012 R2/2016/2019. Read the actual OS and CPU conditions: that combined label does not establish Windows 11 32-bit or ARM support.
CUPS Linux and Mac package V4.0, SAP components and older TPCL 7.4.3_M-0 are separate entries. No current Mac/Linux version or architecture guarantee is made here; an old product OS table is not the requirements of the current file. Preserve working Toshiba queues and shared jobs before an administrator follows the selected package’s installation/upgrade instructions. Firmware is a separate operation.
Match the fitted host interface
USB 2.0 and Ethernet are confirmed by the product and p. 20. Use the device USB connection for the computer; the optional USB Host connection is distinct. The global product calls serial, parallel, expansion I/O, RTC/USB Host and wireless LAN optional. The HS12 manual instead lists serial as standard (p. 26). Inspect your actual regional unit rather than promising every connector or Wi-Fi as standard.
After installing the applicable driver, choose B-EX4T3 at 600 dpi and the actual host port. Comparing the device’s real network address with its Windows queue is a common host check; do not copy another model’s IP menu or example address. Use the selected package’s cable timing. Do not interrupt printing or switch off while ONLINE flashes (p. 21).
Check label sensors, head closure and ribbon
Before working inside, switch off, unplug and let the head cool (p. 7). Load the media through the documented path. The guide uses FREE when opening the head, then LABEL2 when closing; its note reserves LABEL1 for media-dependent conditions (p. 10, p. 19). Do not force the lever or treat an open head as a driver fault.
For gap labels, align the indicated feed-gap sensor with the label center. For black-mark media, align the black-mark sensor with the mark’s center; misalignment can produce a jam or no-paper error (p. 12). Load the ribbon in the illustrated path, center it and remove slack (p. 18–p. 19). The HS ribbon specification is outside winding; use approved media/ribbon and the documented width pairing (p. 32).
Ordinary peel, high-precision peel and cutting require their respective fitted modules. The 3 mm peel-length note belongs to the high-precision option (p. 5); it is not a guarantee for every configuration. Do not borrow calibration or test-report button sequences from another B-EX printer.
B-EX4T3: readiness, ribbon indication and eight causes
Readiness and documented ribbon indication
Compare one intended label from the actual application with the loaded media, ribbon and sensor setup. This is a common host print check. The 36-page Owner’s Manual refers to print-test/settings sections whose complete procedures are absent from this edition; a standalone button report or reset sequence is not inferred.
| State or cause | Check or action | Link |
|---|---|---|
| ON LINE | Use the LCD’s ON LINE readiness indication before sending the intended job. Do not interpret every blinking lamp as a numbered fault. | p. 21 |
| NO RIBBON | The head-mounted ribbon sensor detects the ribbon end; the display shows NO RIBBON and ERROR lights. Check the correct roll and documented ribbon path. | p. 18 |
| Another LCD message / ERROR | Record the exact message and fitted configuration for Toshiba support. This short manual is not a full numeric error-code or recovery lookup. | p. 4 · p. 21 |
Eight no-print causes
| State or cause | Check or action | Link |
|---|---|---|
| Label jam / no paper | Check the path and align the correct gap or black-mark sensor. Sensor misalignment can mimic a missing roll. | p. 10 · p. 12 |
| NO RIBBON / wrinkled print | Check ribbon end, path, centering and slack. The manual warns that wrinkled ribbon reduces print quality. | p. 18 · p. 19 |
| Head not secured | Check the holder plate and media-appropriate lever position after loading; start with the documented LABEL2 closure. | p. 19 |
| USB job missing | Identify device USB versus optional USB Host and use a USB 2.0 compliant data connection. | p. 20 |
| Network / optional interfaces | Common host check: compare the actual address, queue and fitted interface; serial/WLAN availability varies with region and configuration. | p. 20 · p. 26 |
| Wrong model, dpi, queue or package | Common software check: B-EX4T3, 600 dpi, the actual port and selected package OS/CPU requirements; preserve other Toshiba queues. | This model driver guide |
| Faint print / poor barcode | Check the approved media/ribbon pairing and application layout. Clean only after power-off, unplugging and cooling; use the documented head procedure. | p. 22 · p. 32 |
| Peel or cut output fails | Verify the correct module is fitted and its path/mode. High-precision peel, ordinary peel and cutter procedures differ. | p. 5 |
