TSC TDP-247 Driver Download and Label Sensor Troubleshooting

2026-11-04TSC TDP-247

Find the Windows driver for the 203 dpi TSC TDP-247 and check the printer when labels keep feeding or the LED turns red.

Official driver downloads

In the official product Resources tab, pick a Driver entry that lists TDP-247. Windows Driver 12.4.0 (June 3, 2026) and WHQL 2024.2_M-0 (January 8, 2025) are separate packages. Both list Windows 10 and 11 and 32-bit and x64 editions, and exclude Windows on ARM.

Open the official TSC driver list

The Mac TSC-1.29 and Linux 32-bit V0.2.06 and 64-bit V1.2.13 listings also name this model. Check your OS release and CPU before installing. TSC Console is a management utility. Firmware runs on the printer.

On Windows, extract the official package and follow its setup prompts to select the model. On an existing setup, confirm the app and Windows queue point to the same TDP-247, then print one label at the actual stock size.

Model and connection ports

Read the model label on the unit. The TDP-247 is a 203 dpi direct thermal printer. The TDP-345 is 300 dpi, and the similarly named TTP-247 is a different model.

Standard ports are USB 2.0, RS-232 and Centronics parallel. Internal Ethernet and the Bluetooth module are optional, so confirm the hardware on your unit. For serial, check both the cable wiring and the port settings on the printer and host.

Load direct thermal labels

Use direct thermal labels without ribbon. Open the cover at both side levers, place the roll in the holder and thread the stock print side up through the guides and over the platen. Let the guides just touch the liner edges and close the cover fully.

The datasheet lists a media width of 20–112 mm and a maximum print width of 108 mm. Allow for the liner when checking stock fit. Set the installed label size and sensor type in your label editor.

LED and normal FEED behavior

StateMeaning and next check
Steady greenReady. Pressing FEED advances to the next label start.
Flashing greenReceiving data or paused. If you paused printing, press FEED again to resume.
AmberThe printer is clearing data.
Steady redHead open or cutter error. Check both cover latches and inspect the cutter only if fitted.
Flashing redPrinting fault. Check for empty stock, a jam or incorrect settings. The shared manual also mentions ribbon, which this direct thermal model does not use.

Sensor calibration and test print

If multiple labels feed at once, first check loading, label size and whether the stock uses a gap or black mark. If TSC Console is available, open Printer Function in Printer Configuration. Use Calibrate Sensor, then Print Test Page with the actual size and sensor. Configuration Page prints the settings.

For calibration without a PC, stop jobs and power off, then hold FEED while powering on. In the startup sequence on printed page 17, release during the first red flashing group of five blinks, after the initial amber. The next amber flashing group runs self-test and also enters dump mode. The following green flashing group resets factory defaults, so avoid it when calibrating.

Labels feed blankCheck the thermal side, guides and cover, then compare with a printer test. Load stock
Continuous feed or jamStop jobs and check for labels stuck near the sensor. Match label size and sensor type, then calibrate. Calibration steps

Official references and scope

Checked 2026-11-04. Printed pages 7, 16, 17, 20 and 23 of the 35-page manual cover loading, LEDs, calibration, Console and faults. The Asia Pacific table lists December 31, 2025 for discontinuation and December 31, 2030 for end of service and support. Check your regional table for other markets.

The official listings were checked. Installer execution, individual Mac and Linux releases and CPU combinations, and physical printing were not tested.
