Open official Argox driver downloads
This guide covers the original OS-214plus. Argox marks it discontinued and names OS-214 Pro as its successor. Do not substitute OS-214plus Pro or another OS-series model. Exact product and documents
Select the print driver
Open the official Drivers list and match the actual model and PPLA/PPLB emulation. The entries below are current manufacturer descriptions, checked 2026-10-15; packages were not downloaded or run. Label editors, SDKs and firmware are separate components.
| Platform | Official entry | Scope |
|---|---|---|
| Windows | Argox_12.5.0 | Lists Win7/8/10/11 and Server 2016 x64; Windows ARM is unverified. |
| Linux | V1.10.0, separate 32/64-bit entries | Lists CUPS 2.1.X or later; check actual CPU and distribution. |
| macOS | V1.10.0 | Lists M1 or later with Rosetta 2 required, plus CUPS 2.1.X or later. |
| Raspberry Pi | Separate V1.10.0 arm64 / armhf entries | arm64 lists Raspberry Pi OS and Ubuntu 64-bit; do not substitute generic linux64 blindly. |
The listing does not establish every current OS/CPU combination, signatures or successful printing. Confirm the selected package requirements; this is not an installation test.
Confirm the original model’s ports
The manual’s OS-214plus column and rear drawing show USB, RS-232 and Centronics parallel. Cutter and stacker are options. The current page’s introduction agrees, but its specification table instead says USB host/Ethernet. Because these official sections conflict, verify the physical label and sockets before selecting a network port. Manual p.8 (PDF 9) / Manual p.58 (PDF 59) / Quick guide rear drawing
Calibrate media and print the configuration
Load media and close the cover, then switch off. Hold FEED while switching on. After automatic media feed, release FEED when configuration printing starts. In PPLB, press FEED again to leave dump mode. This startup sequence differs from a long hold with power already on, which can reset settings. Manual p.26 (PDF 27)
Common diagnosis: compare this device-generated profile with a PC job. If the profile prints but the PC job fails, inspect the queue, port and This OS-214plus driver download guide. A profile is not proof that the computer driver or connection works.
LED and printing-error diagnosis
Four documented LED patterns and eight cause checks are shown below. No numeric error codes or flash durations are invented. Observe both indicators and the operating context; do not diagnose a hot head from every READY blink.
Read POWER and READY together
| Pattern | Meaning / check | Source |
|---|---|---|
| POWER + READY together | Media absent, gap detection or label jam. | Manual p.47 (PDF 48) / Manual p.48 (PDF 49) |
| POWER / READY alternate | Ribbon out, jam or sensor problem in thermal-transfer operation. | Manual p.48 (PDF 49) |
| Only POWER flashes | Serial, memory, fitted-cutter or hardware issue; this pattern is not one unique fault. | Manual p.48 (PDF 49) |
| Only READY flashes | Controls also use blinking for pause/data. During a thermal fault, allow the head to cool. | Manual p.13 (PDF 14) / Manual p.49 (PDF 50) |
Eight cause checks
| Situation | Check | Source / next step |
|---|---|---|
| Media / gap fault | Check stock, path and sensing; use the calibration procedure. | Manual p.47 (PDF 48) / Manual p.26 (PDF 27) |
| Ribbon fault | Compare loaded ribbon and thermal-transfer mode; persistent sensor faults need service. | Manual p.48 (PDF 49) |
| Serial I/O fault | Compare baud rate only when using RS-232. | Manual p.48 (PDF 49) |
| Cutter fault | Applies to a fitted/configured cutter; persistent jams need service. | Manual p.48 (PDF 49) |
| Stopped with hot head | Wait for cooling; READY flashing alone also has non-fault contexts. | Manual p.49 (PDF 50) / Manual p.13 (PDF 14) |
| Data sent, no output | Check the active exact-model driver and emulation. | Manual p.50 (PDF 51) / This OS-214plus driver download guide |
| Host timeout | Check power and the actual cable/selected port. | Manual p.50 (PDF 51) / This OS-214plus driver download guide |
| Poor print quality | Compare media/ribbon, darkness and speed before replacing parts. | Manual p.51 (PDF 52) |

Official sources checked 2026-10-15. The 77-page manual cover explicitly includes OS-214plus (V1.0-11-12-2017); 13 relevant full pages were rendered and visually reviewed. Both sheets of Quick Installation Guide 49-21403-027, Nov. 2023, were reviewed. Printed manual pages 5 onward are one less than PDF positions. No installer, firmware or physical printer action was performed.
