Open SRP-275III official downloads
SRP-275III is a 9-pin impact receipt printer that uses a ribbon, rather than direct thermal printing. The product’s 3-inch (80 mm) class description is not the roll specification: the exact manual specifies 76 ± 0.5 mm paper, a maximum roll diameter of 83 mm and 63.5 mm print width (p. 43). Match the actual unit label and fitted interface.
Choose the application driver or the POS component
The official SRP-275III listing checked 2026-10-14 shows SRP-275II 275III Windows Driver V2.2.3, 7 MB, dated 2020-06-03. Its expanded Supported OS field lists Windows 7/8/8.1/10 in 32-bit and 64-bit versions, Windows 11 in 64-bit, Server 2008 in both, and Server 2008 R2/2012/2012 R2/2016/2019/2022 in 64-bit. This does not establish Windows on ARM support.
The same page separately lists OPOS 5.2.10 and JPOS 2.8.12 (2026-08-18), virtual-port drivers and configuration tools. A POS application using OPOS/JPOS or a virtual COM port needs its own configured workflow; these entries do not replace the Windows print-queue driver indiscriminately. Preserve working queues and pending POS jobs before following the selected package’s instructions.
Linux CUPS v1.0.1 and Mac CUPS v1.0.2 are dated 2019-08-22. The expanded Linux field lists openSUSE 11.3, RHEL 7.3, CentOS 6.6 and Ubuntu 10.04 LTS; the Mac field lists OS X/macOS 10.5–10.14. Read the official architecture details before selecting a file. These historical lists do not guarantee a current macOS/Linux version, Apple Silicon or ARM support.
OES, OS and OP have different fitted ports
The manual’s factory option matrix identifies OES: USB + RS-232C serial + Ethernet, OS: USB + RS-232C serial, and OP: USB + IEEE 1284 parallel (p. 14, p. 15, p. 17, p. 46). Ethernet is not fitted to every SRP-275III; a software SDK or product tag is not evidence of built-in Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.
The six-pin, 24 V drawer kick-out connector is for the cash drawer, not the computer or Ethernet (p. 18). Switch off both the printer and host ECR before making the documented cable connections (p. 12). For a serial queue, compare the real host settings with the printer’s settings report; do not apply another printer’s baud rate or DIP switch defaults. Power must be off before opening the DIP switch cover, and changes take effect at the next power-on (p. 25).
The A type has a tear bar and no automatic cutter; C has an automatic cutter. Black-mark sensors and other accessories are configuration options (p. 46). Check the actual supplied unit before using a cutter recovery procedure.
Check the roll and impact ribbon
Use the specified 76 ± 0.5 mm roll and the rear-cover loading path: orient the roll as pictured, pull a little paper out, close the cover and tear forward while keeping clear of the cutter (p. 38, p. 43). Do not substitute 80 mm paper solely because of the product’s size-class wording.
The specified ribbon is GRC-201BR, black/red (p. 43). Open the front cover and follow the cartridge illustration: turn the knob clockwise before/during fitting and put the ribbon behind the print head (p. 37). A faint or blank receipt can be a ribbon/path issue; treating this impact unit like a ribbon-free thermal printer misses that cause.
SRP-275III self-test, nine status checks and eight causes
Closed-cover self-test: chapter 7, page 41
- Switch the printer off and close the cover properly.
- Hold FEED while switching power on, then release FEED. The settings print; the test pauses with ERROR lit.
- Press FEED once to print maintenance statistics.
- Press FEED again to print the rolling ASCII pattern. The test exits automatically after the pattern.
The waiting ERROR light in this sequence is not by itself a printer fault. The manual describes cutting at completion, but automatic cutting applies to the fitted C cutter, not A. The printed ROM/DIP/memory settings help compare the real host configuration (p. 41, p. 46).
Keep the rear cover closed for this test. Rear-cover-open FEED + power enters the separate hexadecimal dump described in chapter 8, page 42, which prints received command bytes. Page 11 and page 49 have inconsistent chapter cross-references; use the actual procedures on pages 41–42 rather than those chapter numbers (p. 11, p. 42, p. 49).
Nine selected status checks
| State / cause | Check / action | Source |
|---|---|---|
| PAPER OUT alone | The red PAPER OUT indication means near end, not yet the same indication as paper end. The panel section says this indicator is not included in the wall-mount option. | p. 11 |
| ERROR + PAPER OUT on | Both red indicators on indicate paper end. Check the roll and loading path. | p. 11 · p. 38 |
| ERROR steadily on | An offline state can be paper out/near end or an open cover. Check the actual cover and roll before changing software. | p. 11 · p. 48 |
| ERROR during the self-test pause | After the settings print, FEED continues to statistics, then another FEED continues to ASCII. Interpret the light in this test context. | p. 41 |
| Rear cover opened while printing | Close the cover; the status mapping depends on MSW 8-5 and recovery behavior on MSW 8-8. The manual’s automatic-recovery note is conditional; use the configured POS workflow. | p. 47 |
| Print-head temperature error | The documented hot-head condition recovers automatically after cooling. Do not repeatedly force new jobs while it cools. | p. 47 |
| Automatic-cutter error — C only | Resolve the actual cutter/jam cause, then use the documented supported error-recovery workflow. A has no automatic cutter. | p. 46 · p. 47 |
| Home-position detection error | The manual identifies a mechanical error from a paper jam. Clear the documented jam cause before approved recovery; avoid pulling against the mechanism. | p. 47 · p. 49 |
| Internal memory, voltage or circuit fault | The non-recoverable group includes memory/gate-array, voltage, CPU and interface/head-temperature detection circuit faults. The R/W-memory row conflicts with its cover-close recovery cell; do not promise cover closure will repair memory. Refer persistent faults to BIXOLON service. | p. 48 |
Eight no-print causes
| State / cause | Check / action | Source |
|---|---|---|
| No green POWER | Check the specified power adapter and its connections. Use the printer/host power-off precautions before reconnecting. | p. 11 · p. 12 |
| Roll present but paper error / jam | Check 76 mm roll orientation, rear-cover closure and the documented jam procedure with power off. Interpret the panel in the actual wall-mount configuration. | p. 11 · p. 38 · p. 49 |
| Blank or faint receipt | Check the GRC-201BR cartridge, clockwise knob and ribbon behind the head. Poor printing is not automatically a driver fault. | p. 37 · p. 43 · p. 49 |
| No print while ERROR is on | Check front/rear covers and paper, and distinguish the normal self-test pause from offline or fault conditions. | p. 41 · p. 48 |
| Cable in the wrong socket / interface | Match the fitted OES/OS/OP host port. The drawer kick-out is separate; OS and OP do not acquire Ethernet from an Ethernet driver. | p. 14 · p. 15 · p. 17 · p. 18 |
| Wrong queue, driver or POS component | Common host check: select the exact SRP-275III workflow, actual port and supported package. Keep Windows queue, OPOS/JPOS and virtual-port configuration distinct. | This model’s driver guide |
| Self-test prints but host jobs do not | The manual directs checking cable/transmission settings. Compare the host with the printed settings; change DIP settings only with power off, without guessed baud defaults. | p. 25 · p. 41 · p. 49 |
| C cutter / mechanical jam persists | Switch off for the paper-jam procedure. If the cause persists or an internal fault is reported, use BIXOLON support; do not invent a reset or raw recovery command. | p. 47 · p. 48 · p. 49 |
