Distinguish SRP-E300, ES and E302

ItemCheck
SRP-E300The base model uses USB. SRP-E300ES is the USB/Ethernet/9-pin serial configuration. E302 and ES variants are distinguished here rather than registered as extra guides.
180 / 203 dpiManual page 31 assigns 180dpi to E300/E300ES and 203dpi to E302/E302ES. The product-family 180/203dpi statement is not a resolution-switching feature for the base E300.
Paper and print widthThis is a thermal roll receipt printer. The manual distinguishes 79.5±0.5mm roll width from 72mm print width. Ribbon-loading instructions do not apply.

Current Windows, Mac and Linux files

ItemCheck
Windows POSCurrent listing: POS Windows Driver V5.2.3, 16MB, 18 August 2026. Windows 7/8/8.1/10 are listed as 32/64bit and 11 as 64bit; check the listed Server version separately. “64bit” alone does not establish ARM support.
Mac CUPSMac CUPS Driver POS V1.5.9, 4MB, 12 March 2026. The listing says macOS 10.9 later; this is not a tested guarantee for current macOS or Apple Silicon.
Linux CUPSLinux CUPS Driver POS V1.5.9, 4MB, 12 March 2026. The portal lists minimum distributions and Pi2 32bit/Pi4 64bit. Compare your distribution, CUPS and CPU with actual package requirements before installation.
POS / UtilityOPOS V5.2.10, JavaPOS V2.8.12, USB/NET virtual-port drivers and configuration utilities are separate. Match your POS vendor’s integration path; installing every component is unnecessary.

Checked the official page in a normal browser on 24 October 2026. Listings and public documents were read; no agreement was accepted and no installer, signature, package payload or installation runtime was verified. Mobile-app/SDK listings do not establish Wi-Fi or Bluetooth hardware.

USB, ES interfaces and the drawer port

ItemCheck
USBUSB is present on both base and ES configurations. The manual requires printer power off before connecting/disconnecting communication cables. Match the actual printer and host port.
Ethernet / SerialThe Ethernet and 9-pin serial diagrams apply to E300ES/E302ES. Do not apply IP or serial setup to a USB-only E300. Check the installed product label and rear ports.
DK / PowerDK is the cash-drawer drive port, not a PC network/telephone connection. Do not connect a telephone line. Use the specified adapter and label ratings; disconnect from the wall outlet before removing its power connection.

Four thermal-roll preparation checks

  1. Finish incoming/printing work, switch off and let the head cool. Prepare a suitable thermal roll and lift the cover lever.
  2. Remove the old roll and use the unwind orientation illustrated on page 21. A roll whose paper stays attached to the core can affect paper-empty detection.
  3. Pull out a little paper and firmly close the centre of the cover. Keep the cover closed during printing.
  4. Trim the exposed paper as illustrated. Keep roll width separate from printable width, then compare feeding and output with the device test below.

FEED self-test: brief press versus configuration

  1. With power off, load paper correctly and close the cover. Keep it closed while the printer operates.
  2. Hold FEED while switching power on to start the self-test. Check the status output, including the control-ROM version.
  3. The Error light can blink while the printed prompt waits for a choice. Do not immediately treat this pause as a jam.
  4. To continue the test page, press FEED briefly for less than one second. Holding it for at least one second selects VMSM configuration instead.
  5. The completion line and cut end the test and return to normal printing. This checks device output, not the whole host driver/POS/communication path.
ItemCheck
Device self-testClosed cover, FEED at power-on, status output, then a FEED press under one second.
VMSMHolding FEED at the prompt for at least one second opens a settings path. Page 24 says this product has no DIP switch. Menu numbers are not error codes.
Hex dumpCover-open FEED at power-on belongs to the separate page-28 data diagnostic. It is not the normal receipt test. After dump printing finishes, an OFF/ON cycle exits dump mode.

Three common PC/POS checks

  1. Common PC check: select the actual SRP-E300 queue/USB port and send one small receipt. Compare it with the device self-test.
  2. Common POS check: identify whether the application uses a Windows queue, OPOS, JavaPOS or a virtual port. Successful device output does not confirm the application target/integration.
  3. Common application check: compare the layout with 72mm printable width and actual paper. Two columns of hex/ASCII may indicate the page-28 dump mode; distinguish it before replacing drivers.

SRP-E300 not printing: compare device and host

Compare device-test output, paper and cover state first. If failure occurs only from the host, use the exact-model driver route below.

Three documented light states and code limits

These are selected manual indications and their contexts. No separate Paper LED or unique blink-count code table is inferred. Normal FEED gives one line per press or continuous feeding when held over three seconds, distinct from the self-test menu’s one-second threshold.

ItemCheck
Power LEDIndicates power is on, not successful host/POS integration. If absent, compare the adapter LED and supply as described on page 23.
Error LEDShared indication for conditions such as no roll or an open cover. It does not identify a unique failed part or numeric code.
Error blinking at the test promptThe status-output pause can blink while awaiting a selection. Compare the brief-FEED procedure on pages 25–26 with actual paper and cover conditions.

Eight causes to compare

ItemCheck
Device prints, host failsCommon PC check: compare queue, POS integration and actual port, then use SRP-E300 driver downloads
No roll / cover openThese share the Error light. Check roll direction and centre-cover closure on pages 20–23.
Self-test pausesA blinking Error light after the prompt may be awaiting a brief FEED press; do not accidentally select VMSM.
Hex/ASCII outputPage 28 describes command/data dumping, not normal receipts. Exit with OFF/ON after printing finishes.
Faint print / missing lineCompare roll orientation/specification first, then follow cooled-head cleaning on page 30. Do not assume density settings or a replacement part is the cause.
Outlet / cutter jamKeep the outlet clear. OFF/ON may return the blade after a minor jam, but never force the cover.
Clipping / wrong targetCommon application check: 72mm print width differs from roll width. Distinguish E300 180dpi from E302 203dpi.
Network setup on a USB modelEthernet/serial belong to ES variants. Mobile apps and network utilities do not add those physical interfaces.

Paper/cutter jams and head cleaning

Page 29 allows an OFF/ON cycle to return the blade after some minor jams. Keep the outlet clear and never force the cover. A cover that will not open has a separate power-off cutter-cover/knob procedure in the illustration. Do not invent a rotation direction or dismantle internals; use dealer service if the pictured parts are unclear or jams recur.

Manual PDF 29

For head contamination, switch off, allow sufficient cooling, remove the paper and clean the illustrated head with the medical-use alcohol specified on page 30. Avoid scratches and touching the heated area; refit the roll and close the cover. The manual recommends cleaning at roll changes but does not establish an alcohol concentration or fixed cooling duration here.

Official evidence and verification scope

Checked 24 October 2026. The SRP-E300 support page directly links the 33-page User Manual Ver.2.00; PDF and printed page numbers match. Nineteen relevant whole pages were visually reviewed. The portal’s 12 July 2022 document date differs from the PDF revision entry “07-11-2023”; they are not merged.

This guide verifies the current listings and model manual. No physical printer, installation, firmware, POS payment or cash-drawer operation was tested. No executable, agreement acceptance or personal-data form submission was involved.
