Official PT-P300BT apps and manuals
Open official Brother PT-P300BT guidanceThe documented print route uses Bluetooth phone apps. Use the product guidance and exact app/manual links below.
Official apps and current requirements
| Check | What to check |
|---|---|
| iPhone | Design&Print 2 · App Store is published by Brother Industries, LTD. The observed version is 2.8.1 with iOS 18 minimum. Older manual device names do not establish current installation eligibility. |
| Android | Design&Print 2 · Google Play is linked by the model app FAQ. The minimum Android version was not observed on this public page; check the actual device’s store conditions. |
| Other app | The manual and model app list also name iPrint&Label. Do not turn a shared Wi-Fi app introduction into PT-P300BT Wi-Fi support; the documented model connection is Bluetooth. |
Power, connection and tape
| Check | What to check |
|---|---|
| Power | Use six AAA alkaline cells or six fully charged AAA Ni-MH cells, or the AC adapter specified for your sales region. Keep types/ages consistent and replace all six together. |
| Link | Manual PDF p8 specifies Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR Class 2. Do not transplant PT-P710BT USB or battery conditions. |
| TZe | Supported widths are 3.5, 6, 9 and 12 mm. Check the TZe mark/width and route the tape beneath its guide toward the exit. |
Select the printer in the app
- Turn the printer and phone Bluetooth on. The model FAQ uses the app’s Connect Now or printer-selection guidance.
- Check the identifying digits after PT-P300BT. The manual uses the serial number’s last four digits or the machine-number sticker below the power button.
- If absent, check another phone’s connection, sleep and distance, then consult the Bluetooth FAQ. Its legacy Android 4.4 branch is not a current Design&Print 2 minimum OS claim.
Print, feed and cut
- Create a label in the app; check tape width and quantity.
- Tap Print and wait for printing to finish. Do not press the cutter lever while printing.
- If the final label is not fully out, quickly press Power twice while the printer is on to feed it, then cut with the lever. This is a feed action, not a reset.
Cassette and print quality
Manual PDF p14: seat a compatible TZe cassette until it clicks and close the cover. Check the guide path and trapped tape. For horizontal gaps or faint text, compare head contamination. Before maintenance, power off and remove batteries/disconnect the adapter; avoid touching the hot head. Follow manual PDF p6 for the dedicated cleaning-cassette procedure.
LED colour and timing
| Check | What to check |
|---|---|
| Off | Power off |
| Green steady | Connecting, feeding/cutting or printing |
| Green 3/1 s | Three seconds on/one second off means standby |
| Green 0.5 s | Flashing at 0.5-second intervals means receiving data |
| Orange 1 s | Flashing at one-second intervals means insufficient charge or battery failure |
| Red steady | Booting state; seek Brother support if persistent |
| Red 1 s | Cassette, communication, cutter and adapter errors share one-second flashing; compare message/context |
| Red 0.5 s | Flashing at 0.5-second intervals means system error; contact Brother support |
Eight selected groups from manual PDF p15. Do not invent numeric error codes or treat all red indications as one cause.
Margins and the final label
Manual PDF pp9/17: for subsequent labels, the documented options are Cut the last label OFF and Special Tape OFF in Design&Print 2, or Chain Printing ON in iPrint&Label. Feed the final label with two quick Power presses and cut manually. This does not promise a margin-free first label.
