The TC-21M prints on rolls up to 24 inches wide and has an A4-class flatbed scanner. Choose the connection you actually use: USB Type-B for a direct connection to your computer, or wired LAN (10/100 Mbps) or Wi-Fi (2.4/5 GHz) through your network. Available Wi-Fi bands and channels vary by region.
Choose roll or top feed
In the Windows driver, open Page Setup → Paper Source. Pick Roll Paper for a roll or Top Feed for cut sheets. Match the paper type and size in the print settings to what you registered on the printer.
See Canon’s roll loading steps for roll stock. When loading cut sheets in the top feed, align both paper guides with the edges of the sheet.
Run a nozzle check
For blurry prints or streaks, print a test pattern from the printer before resending the job from your computer. Use a roll at least 297 mm wide or one unused sheet of A4 or larger paper.
- On the Home screen, open Setup → Maintenance → Nozzle Check and select Yes.
- Choose Roll paper or Top feed to match the loaded paper. Select All A if pattern C has no gaps and pattern D has no horizontal streaks. If either shows defects, select Also B and follow the cleaning prompt.
If the pattern looks right but computer jobs fail, check the actual connection, then verify the TC-21M driver and print queue.
Support codes 1000, 100A and 4103
- 1000: top feed. The cut-sheet feed is empty or the paper is out of position. Reload the sheet, align the guides, and tap OK on the printer.
- 100A: no roll loaded. The job requests roll paper and no roll is installed. Tap Load roll paper and load the roll. If you meant to print on a cut sheet, press Stop, choose the correct paper source, and send the job again.
- 4103: current print settings cannot be used. Press Stop to cancel, change the settings, and retry. Start by comparing the job’s paper type, size and source with the loaded paper.
