Identify the DPP-350 portable thermal printer
This is a 203dpi direct-thermal model with 72mm maximum print width. This guide uses the official non-fiscal downloads and the linked manual; separate fiscal settings, approvals and payment-terminal operation are outside this print guide.
Current driver/SDK listings versus historical setup screens
| Item | Check |
|---|---|
| Windows driver | The product lists Datecs Non-fiscal Printer Driver: 63.9MB, added 23 October 2023, OS Windows. Official listed ZIP must still be checked for the actual Windows release and x86/x64/ARM64 requirements. |
| Windows Printing SDK | Listed as 126KB, 21 August 2015, Windows. This application-development resource has a different role from a print-queue driver. |
| Datecs Java SDK | Listed as 2.19MB, 29 September 2020, Android/Linux/Windows. The SDK platform list does not establish an ordinary printer driver for each OS. |
| Legacy applications | Printer Utility, Datecs Print and Printer SDK are dated 21 August 2015 for Windows CE/.NET/Mobile. The 2009 manual’s Palm, BlackBerry and ActiveSync screens are not a current desktop installation sequence. |
Sizes/dates above are product-listing values. The linked filename’s v2.10 is not a verified internal INF version, signature result or current CPU-support matrix.
Mini USB, RS232 and fitted wireless options
| Item | Check |
|---|---|
| Mini USB | The product specifies USB Mini/device; the p10 diagram separates USB from the charger input. Distinguish a data cable from the approved charger. |
| RS232 | Shown on pp11/20. Compare the actual report’s interface, baud rate and flow control with the application; do not copy the sample report’s settings. |
| Wireless options | The current product lists optional Bluetooth 3.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11b; the 2009 manual documents Bluetooth. Confirm the fitted option and app rather than assuming built-in wireless, AirPrint or current app compatibility. |

Thermal side, 12mm leader and cover latch
- Lift the paper-cover latch to unlock it, then raise the cover.
- Drop in the thermal roll in the p25 illustrated direction, with the thermal surface facing the head.
- Before closure, pull at least 12mm of paper above the top of the printer.
- Close the cover until it snaps locked, then compare paper and status indications.
The current English product/datasheet lists 78/58mm stock and a 50mm maximum roll diameter; the 2009 manual p5 lists 78mm with optional 57mm. Keep that narrow-stock difference explicit and confirm the fitted guide/approved supplies. The 72mm print width is a different measurement.
Distinguish short and long LF self-tests
| Item | Check |
|---|---|
| Short self-test | Hold LF while turning power on; release after about 0.5 seconds and the first beep. Record the model, actual interface, baud rate, USB mode and battery information. |
| Long self-test | Hold LF while turning power on; release after about 4.5 seconds and the third beep. This separate test prints font, character-set, barcode and configuration information. |
| Ordinary paper feed | With power on, normal feed runs while LF is pressed and stops on release. Black-mark mode has separate feed rules, so identify the actual paper mode. |
The second beep in p12 selects Hex DUMP, rather than the short report. Holding longer can select programming modes, so avoid an open-ended hold. Firmware, baud and USB values printed in the sample are not readings from your printer.

Compare application and queue after device success
- With correct stock and charge, compare the short self-test and ordinary paper feed to establish device behavior.
- Common PC check: verify the actual DPP-350, interface, OS and CPU requirements with the provider and follow current installation prompts. Record the working queue first.
- Common app check: compare the report’s interface, baud, USB/paper mode with the app destination and output language. Do not copy sample or other-model switch values.
Indicator and printing-symptom checks
Eight STATUS and CHARGE conditions
Compare the lamp name, color, flashing pattern and timing. These are manual-described states; numbered troubleshooting rows are not device error codes.
| Item | Check |
|---|---|
| STATUS: green / steady | Power is on; this alone does not prove a working PC connection. |
| STATUS: red / steady | Page13 identifies paper end/out. Check correct roll loading. |
| STATUS: red / flashing | Page28 associates continuous red blinking with paper out or incorrect loading. Preserve the distinction between steady and flashing states. |
| STATUS: green / flashing | Low battery voltage; check charging with the approved charger. |
| STATUS: green/red during printing | When printing stops and green/red alternates, compare the head-overheat condition. Normal temperature restores green and printing resumes. |
| CHARGE: red / steady | Charging with the adapter connected; this is a different lamp from the red STATUS paper indication. |
| CHARGE: green / steady | Fully charged with the adapter connected; this is a normal charge-complete indication. |
| STATUS during LF power-on | During LF-held startup, red/green changes with the beeps occur in a mode-selection context. Distinguish this from overheating during printing and release at the intended test cue. |

Eight printing-cause checks and this model’s driver
| Item | Check |
|---|---|
| Feeds blank paper | Check thermal-side orientation and cover seating. Check details |
| Faint overall print | Page28 lists low battery voltage and unsuitable thermal media. Check details |
| Half-width light/missing print | Check cover seating; persistent trouble may involve the mechanism and needs technical support rather than internal adjustment. Check details |
| Strange characters | Page28 identifies low battery voltage. Compare charge first and treat host checks separately. Check details |
| Stops with green/red STATUS | Allow the head to return to normal temperature; distinguish STATUS from CHARGE. Check details |
| No response to print/feed | Review the separate recovery entry on p28 and technical support. Preserve unfinished work because loss of power can erase temporary data. Check details |
| Device test works; PC fails | Common PC check: compare the actual connection, queue and this model’s driver requirements. Check details |
| Only the business app fails | Common host check: compare the report’s interface/paper mode with the app’s ESC/POS and destination-device settings. Avoid blanket switch changes. Check details |
Approved charging and care
Page23 calls for at least four hours of charging before first use and an approved AC charger. CHARGE red means charging and green means full; distinguish STATUS. Let an overheated head return to normal; if liquid enters, switch off and obtain service. Avoid internal disassembly/adjustment.
The case-care warning excludes thinner, benzine and ketone-type solvents. Persistent trouble needs technical support rather than internal adjustment.

Official sources and verification scope
Checked 24 October 2026 against the current English product page and its official links. The 32-page manual is marked October2009 / firmware1.59; 17 relevant complete pages were visually reviewed, along with the complete one-page datasheet. Cited printed pages5–28 match PDF page numbers.
The manual’s firmware1.59 label is not a current firmware recommendation. Driver/SDK archives, signatures, current OS/CPU operation and physical printing/connections were not tested. Do not merge current English and historical dimension, environment or option values into one universal specification.
