Official 3D45 software and driver route
Open Dremel official Windows slicer pageUse the DigiLab 3D Slicer for Windows button on this official page. The 3D45 builds sliced model files; distinguish its software from a document-printer driver and from printer firmware.
Windows link and software-specific requirements
| Check | Evidence and next check |
|---|---|
| Windows | The observed official button links Dremel3DSlicer-1.2.3-win64.exe. This is a linked filename, not a claim that it is the newest release across all channels. Binary signatures, runtime, Windows 11 and ARM compatibility were not verified. |
| Early slicer | FAQ page 12 describes an early DigiLab Slicer release: 64-bit Windows 7 SP1/8.1/10, 3GB RAM, 300MB installation space and OpenGL requirements. Its then-unavailable Mac edition is not proof that every current Mac offering is unsupported. |
| Print Studio | The manual page 7 requirements for a 64-bit CPU, roughly 2GB installation space and Direct3D 11 belong to Print Studio. Do not combine them with the early slicer’s 300MB/OpenGL requirements. Match the actual application and version. |
| Other OS | The download button verified here is for Windows. Apple Silicon, current macOS, Linux and Windows ARM packages need separate official confirmation. Firmware in 3D45 documentation is distinct from a computer installer; a connection symptom alone does not identify an update requirement. |
3D45 identity and document edition
| Check | Evidence and next check |
|---|---|
| Exact model | The official support model and manual cover identify Dremel DigiLab 3D45. Its manual lists a 255×155×170mm build volume; do not automatically apply another Dremel model’s configuration. |
| Manual edition | The 116-page multilingual manual ends with 2610047405AC / 06/20. English pages 2–38 identify the ports and fault causes used here. Historical cloud screens and software names do not guarantee current service availability. |
| Material settings | Maximum nozzle and bed ratings are not recommended settings for every material. Match the filament and 3D45 profile. Likewise, the manual’s older Mac/Windows list is not a current OS certification list. |
Distinguish USB-A, USB-B and networking
| Check | Evidence and next check |
|---|---|
| USB-A | Manual page 12 item 7 is front USB-A. Page 30 uses Build → USB icon for sliced files on a USB flash drive. This differs from the rear USB-B computer connection. |
| USB-B | Rear item 28 is USB-B, with computer-cable connection on page 28. FAQ page 10 checks the cable and OS driver installation when software cannot find the printer. A normal document Print dialog is not the workflow for every slicer. |
| Network | Rear item 29 is Ethernet; the manual also covers Wi-Fi. Page 20 distinguishes wired/wireless connection icons from the cloud-service icon. A network icon alone does not establish a valid cloud account or ready queued job. |
Compare stored and USB files on a prepared printer
This compares the normal output routes on manual pages 29–30. It is not a diagnostic pattern or factory self-test. The actual printer must already have its filament, adhesion, leveling and clear build area prepared.
- Use Build → printer icon to locate an on-printer model. With the machine’s preparation requirements satisfied, compare its result through Build in model details.
- For a flash drive, use front USB-A and Build → USB icon with a file sliced for the 3D45. Copying a raw STL/OBJ is a different operation.
- Record which route fails: stored file, USB media or computer. Keep hands outside during operation and wait for the screen’s cool indication after completion. Media success does not validate the PC driver or cloud connection.
Model inputs, printer files and filament
Official FAQ pages 9–10 distinguish STL/OBJ slicer inputs from .g3drem/.gcode/.g printer files for 3D45. A matching extension still needs the correct model and material profile. A red model can be oversized, floating or outside the build area. Missing preview artwork alone is not a print-quality fault.
Checks for documented states and symptoms
| Check | Evidence and next check |
|---|---|
| Filament pause | Pages 29/35 distinguish a runout pause from a partial build caused by runout or clogging. Check remaining material and loading. Record blockage or homing failure for official support. |
| Door / queued job | Page 36 separates empty filament, open doors and an existing build when a network job does not start. Check doors, current job and build-area state before treating this as a failed transfer. |
| Offline / token | Page 36 checks network connection and the current token in Tools/About. Generating a new token can remove shared users; avoid using regeneration as a routine connectivity check. Service and account status need separate confirmation. |
| First layer | Page 35 separates bed leveling, first-layer contact/position, missing support and Z-gap. Check slicer preview and placement first; obtain official support instructions for Z-gap calibration. |
| Wi-Fi not found | Pages 35–36 distinguish router distance from SSID/password errors and list Ethernet as an alternative. Use settings confirmed by the network owner; separate token problems from a PC USB driver issue. |
These are documented states and causes; no numeric fault code is invented. This guide does not prescribe heated disassembly, nozzle clearing, sensor bypass or a factory reset.
