Official CW-C4000 downloads
Select the exact CW-C4000 and actual OS. Read its release notes and distinguish the print driver from firmware and utilities.
This guide uses the US ColorWorks CW-C4000 Matte product, SKU C31CK03A9981. The official support URL retains SPT_C31CK03101 while its page identifies that current SKU. Match the complete model and regional support page before selecting files.
Matte / Gloss and exact model
This four-colour inkjet label printer uses roll or fanfold media. After initial black-ink selection and charging, the manual says the black type cannot be changed. Match the fitted Matte/Gloss configuration and media; replacing an ink cartridge does not convert it. Manual pp.6,15–16
Windows files and other components
| File | Listed scope |
|---|---|
| x64 | Windows 11 listing: driver 1.4.0.0, 68.1 MB, 21 Aug 2026; CWC4000_x64_v1400.exe. |
| x86 | Windows 10 32-bit listing: driver 1.4.0.0, 64.1 MB, same date; CWC4000_x86_v1400.exe. |
| Other files | Firmware, colour-matching/admin tools and SDKs have different purposes. An OS-picker entry alone does not prove a matching Mac/Linux/ARM driver is offered. |
Check the driver prerequisite first
Both driver entries require firmware TG27LA or later. Check Menu → Printer Status/Print → Firmware Version, or the status sheet, and compare Epson’s release conditions before choosing software. This prerequisite is not an instruction to update firmware blindly. Version check, p.7

Three port roles
| Port | Use |
|---|---|
| USB-B | Computer data: USB 2.0 High-Speed. |
| LAN | Wired 10/100/1000 Ethernet; compare the actual address with the host queue. |
| USB-A | For the optional OT-WL06 wireless unit; availability varies by region. It is not the USB-B computer socket. |
USB / LAN / optional OT-WL06: pp.22,74
Compare stock and sensing
Match source, form, dimensions and gap/black-mark/no-detection mode to the real stock. The guide says driver settings take precedence if they differ from printer/Web Config settings. pp.35–39
CW-C4000 printer and PC checks
Print a device status sheet
With suitable media, select Menu → Printer Status/Print → Print Status Sheet. It shows firmware and media/network settings. The guide recommends paper wider than 108 mm for reports; compare the permitted liner/media dimensions first. Common comparison: if it prints, check the PC queue and connection before reinstalling. Status sheet, p.28
Six selected message groups
| Group | Check |
|---|---|
| Media | Feed/detection messages: compare source, form and sensor mode. |
| Calibrate | Calibration failure: compare gap/black mark; gaps over 6 mm cannot calibrate. |
| Ink | Distinguish low, missing, incompatible and unrecognised cartridges. |
| Box | SJMB4000: nearing full, full, missing and unrecognised are separate states. |
| Printing | A cancelled PC job may leave this display. Cancel → All label formats discards remaining label jobs; use only when cancellation is intended. |
| Error | Record the actual 6- or 8-character alphanumeric service code. Persistent printer errors need model-specific support; no fixed numbers are invented here. |
Six cause checks
If the table extends beyond the screen, scroll it sideways.
| Symptom | Check | Guide |
|---|---|---|
| PC only | Common check: correct CW-C4000 queue, OS architecture and release prerequisite. | Guide |
| Wrong port | Separate computer USB-B, Ethernet and optional wireless. | Guide |
| Media ejects | Match media source/form and detection to loaded stock. | Guide |
| Ink / box | Resolve the actual consumable message before blaming software. | Guide |
| Paused / job | Compare pause status, job settings and deliberate cancellation. | Guide |
| Network / service | Compare the status report and exact LCD text; ask the administrator about network/cloud errors. | Guide |
