Link WIDE official drivers and app
Choose the original instax Link WIDE on the official download page. Its PC driver differs from Link WIDE 2. For a phone, use the instax Link WIDE app and check the current store requirements.
Identify original Link WIDE / FI022W
This guide covers instax Link WIDE, model FI022W, in the English and Korean full manuals ending in -03. It is an instant-film photo printer, separate from Link WIDE 2 and the mini/SQUARE models. Use the device identifier underneath when several printers appear.
Current OS and software selection
| Item | Meaning and check |
|---|---|
| Windows | Current listing: Windows 11 (64-bit) Home/Pro. The original Link WIDE download is an x64 .msi; this does not establish ARM64 support. |
| Mac | Current listing: macOS 15 or later. The linked .pkg was not inspected for Intel/Apple silicon compatibility. |
| iOS / Android | Use the Link WIDE app from the stores linked by the official FAQ. Check present device/OS compatibility there; the older manual minimums are not a current support promise. |
| Linux / other platforms | A current native driver route was not established by these official sources. Avoid substituting an unrelated generic photo-printer package. |
The August 2026 notice ends support for Windows 10 and macOS 10.15–14 from 15 September 2026. Use the updated list. Software settings and firmware are separate; no installer contents, signatures or successful installation are certified here.

Separate Bluetooth printing from USB charging
| Item | Meaning and check |
|---|---|
| PC printing | Bluetooth only. The driver FAQ explicitly excludes Wi-Fi and USB printing. |
| Phone printing | Bluetooth to the Link WIDE app. A phone connection can prevent a PC connection; release the phone first. |
| Micro USB socket | Charging, including from a suitable PC. A USB cable does not create a supported print connection. |
WIDE film and preventing exposed white prints
Use instax WIDE film; mini and SQUARE packs do not fit this model. Each pack has 10 exposures plus a black protective cover. Do not open the film door while unused film remains: exposure can make the remaining prints white.
- For a fresh pack, slide the door lock and open the film door.
- Align the yellow marks on the pack and printer, then insert it without pressing the rear rectangular holes.
- Close the film door; the black protective cover ejects automatically.
- Remove the ejected cover. Open the door to unload the empty cartridge only after its film is used.
App pairing and a previous device holding the connection
Install the exact Link WIDE app. Turn on Bluetooth, start the printer with an approximately one-second Power-button press, then use the app’s Bluetooth search/Connect flow. Match the bottom identifier and confirm pairing. If changing devices, release the earlier pairing before reconnecting. App screens and permissions depend on the current OS; do not use the mini Link app merely because parts of the online permission FAQ say mini Link.

Compare one photo from the connected app
- With film loaded and the phone previously paired through the Link WIDE app, turn the printer on.
- Open the app and select one image. This consumes film if printed.
- Tap the print control or swipe up as shown in the manual.
- Wait until ejection finishes and the printer becomes quiet, then hold the film edge and remove it.
This is an ordinary app print, not a standalone diagnostic report. If it works while a PC job fails, compare Bluetooth ownership, the selected model and this exact model’s driver. For PC setup, use the original Link WIDE Printer Driver, Search, select the intended printer and Connect; review the driver’s Print Preview before sending the job.
Link WIDE not-printing checks
Compare PC software, Bluetooth, device and film conditions.
Five light conditions
| Item | Meaning and check |
|---|---|
| White steady | Manual p.4: not charging. After charging, an on but unconnected printer can also show white. White alone is not proof of a fault. |
| White blinking | Charging. If switched off, the light goes out after charging completes. |
| Blue blinking | Firmware update in progress; it is not a print-job error code. |
| Yellow steady | Charging failure or film-ejection error can share this indication. |
| Yellow blinking | Low battery or a film door open during an attempted print; the current FAQ also lists opening the door during printing. |
Eight symptom checks
| Situation | Check | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| Driver cannot connect | Use the original Link WIDE package, not Link WIDE 2. | Next check → |
| USB / Wi-Fi print attempt | Use Bluetooth; keep Micro USB for charging. | Next check → |
| PC cannot find an available printer | Check charge, power, PC Bluetooth and a phone holding the connection. | Next check → |
| PC timeout / no photo | The official PC FAQ suggests Normal or Slow Print Speed, then a retry if Slow still errors. | Next check → |
| Photo cropped differently | Check actual output in the driver Print Preview, not only the host application preview. | Next check → |
| No power / charging stops | Check charge, one-second button press, supply and charging temperature. | Next check → |
| Some or all prints white | Consider film exposed by opening the door before the pack was used. | Next check → |
| Yellow light / no ejection | Compare both steady/blinking meanings; do not assign a single numeric fault. | Next check → |
PC speed, preview and photo quality
For PC timeouts, compare the official Normal/Slow speed guidance. Confirm cropping in the driver’s own Print Preview. Windows Protected Print Mode can remove the installed driver, according to the vendor FAQ; consult that guidance and your administrator before changing a managed security setting. For uneven film output, keep the ejection slot clear and avoid shaking, bending or folding the fresh print. Persistent ejection trouble needs the exact manual or FUJIFILM service; do not force the mechanism.

Charging, temperature and service limits
Charge fully before first use. The manual gives roughly 80–120 minutes, depending on conditions, and a +5 to +40°C charging range. For PC charging, connect directly rather than through a hub or keyboard; sleep interrupts charging, so wake the PC and reconnect. If charging still fails within the stated range, contact support. The battery is built in. Do not disassemble it or apply alcohol/thinner as an improvised cleaning method. If unusually hot, smoky, burnt-smelling or wet, unplug Micro USB, switch off and stop use.

Official sources and verification scope
Verified 20 October 2026: exact FI022W full manuals, current model/support pages, driver list, PC FAQ and OS-change notice. Eleven selected English pages and four Korean pages were visually checked; the manuals have 13 pages each. Printed numbers match PDF pages after the cover. No physical print, pairing, firmware update, installer execution or EULA acceptance was performed. Numeric error codes and unverified platform support are not invented.
