CP-D90DW is a 300 dpi dye-sublimation photo printer with Hi-Speed USB 2.0. Match the full device label: this page covers CP-D90DW, not the regional -C or -P suffix. Official product, download tables and the 27-page English Operation Manual were checked 2026-10-15.

Choose the CP-D90DW row and the documented OS

The global table places Windows CPD90_Tool_DrvWinEN Ver.1.10 (32/64-bit) under Windows 7/8/10. Its later-OS column carries note ※1: not supported. Do not assume Windows 11 or ARM compatibility. For Mac, Ver1.00 names OS10.6–10.11; Ver3.00 occupies the macOS10.14 column. macOS10.15,11.4 and later share the unsupported note. Read the selected ZIP’s installation document; printing drivers, firmware and ICC profiles are separate. For repair, the global page directs users to their sales agent. Official OS table and note ※1

USB data connection is different from DC power output

Manual p.8 separates the data USB terminal from the USB Type-A 5 V/2 A power output. Type-A supplies power only; it is not a USB print-host port. The 12 V output takes priority over 5 V. The product’s standard host link is USB, so this guide does not apply native Wi-Fi/Ethernet setup. Manual p.8

  1. Confirm the correct paper/ribbon and that the printing unit is closed. Preserve existing computer queues/settings before a software change.
  2. In the official driver table, select the exact CP-D90DW file for the documented OS. Follow its included installation/licence instructions while the printer USB remains disconnected.
  3. The manual’s p.16 sequence installs the driver before connecting data USB, with the printer powered on. It specifies a USB 2.0 certified cable at most 2 m long.
  4. Select the actual CP-D90DW queue and matching image/media size, then send one intended photo. This checks the computer/USB/driver path; it is not a standalone printer report.

Paper, ribbon and the paper-strip bin

Replace paper and ribbon together. Remove the paper-strip bin before opening the door, then attach it firmly after loading; do not remove it during printing. Closing a powered-on unit with new paper starts automatic feeding/cutting. That loading action is not a photo self-test, and OPEN releases the printing unit. Manual p.7 · Manual p.14

CP-D90DW errors: compare all three indicators

The exact manual’s p.17 uses ALARM, PAPER RIBBON and POWER combinations. The following nine rows preserve the distinction between steady, blinking and off. POWER colour matters; these are indicator states, not invented numeric fault codes.

Eight checks before replacing the print driver

Pattern / causeMeaning / checkSource / next step
USB job missingUse the data terminal, not the 5 V USB power outlet; verify the actual cable.Manual p.8 · Manual p.16
Paper/ribbon setting mismatchMatch the loaded combination and computer image size; check supplies before reinstalling.Manual p.17 · Manual p.20
Printing unit / strip binClose the unit firmly and attach the bin; keep printing strips from blocking the outlet.Manual p.7 · Manual p.14
Paper jam / ribbon problemThe p.18 jam sequence uses powered-on OPEN, then cassette removal and bin removal before the door. Follow its complete diagrams; do not force the mechanism.Manual p.18
POWER green blinkingReceiving data and head-temperature regulation share this pattern; wait rather than treating every blink as a driver error.Manual p.17
Wrong model / OS / queueCommon computer check: verify CP-D90DW, selected OS file, destination queue and paused jobs.CP-D90DW driver download guide
Lines / poor qualityBefore head cleaning, switch power off and let the head cool; use the exact soft-cloth procedure. Persistent poor quality needs dealer review.Manual p.21
Power / persistent errorCheck the cord. The protective-circuit case in p.20 waits about two minutes after switching off; this differs from the ordinary five-second power-cycle note in p.8.Manual p.20 · Manual p.8

Jam recovery and head cleaning have different power instructions. Do not turn the p.18 powered-on opening rule into a general cleaning rule. Record the full lamp pattern and contact the sales agent if the documented checks do not resolve it.
