Official PM-246S downloads
On the exact PM-246S page, open Drivers. Windows and Linux each have separate standard and ARM downloads. The macOS tab lists a driver and setup guide. ChromeOS has a USB guide. Check the requirements of the selected file before installing. Labelife is the label editor.
Open the official PM-246S driver list
The PM-246S setup guide shows USB to the computer. Connect the USB cable, switch on the printer and follow the selected setup guide.
Load the labels
Use direct thermal labels 25.4–117 mm wide. Set the guides to the label width and feed the sheet straight with the printable label side up. Wait for the printer to catch the stock, then run detection for the type of label you loaded. Illustrated Quick Start Guide
Test print and media detection
Start with the printer ready and the stock loaded. Press FEED once to advance a label. For a longer press, release when the blue light has flashed the required number of times.
- Once prints a test page.
- Twice learns the spacing of gap labels.
- Three times learns labels with black marks.
Run detection after changing stock. Release at the intended signal because the fourth flash selects factory reset.
Status light and print problems
Slow blue flashing points to a jam or detection problem. Check that the stock feeds freely, then repeat detection. Fast blue flashing calls for checking the selected media type. Steady red indicates the printhead is hot. Let it cool before resuming.
For flashing red, check both the cover latch and the label supply. The online quick guide and maintenance sheet reverse which red flash rate means which condition.
If the printer test page works but the computer job fails, compare the USB queue and the selected label size and media type. PM-246S driver downloads
