Open exact CT4-LX support and files

Use the Windows or Linux and Mac OS route linked by the exact-model support page. First match the printer resolution, actual OS and system type.

Official files and OS scope

CheckEvidence and next check
WindowsCT4-LX 203dpi/305dpi is listed for version 10.6.26 Build 28299, dated 2026-01-26. Listed systems are Windows 11/10 and Server 2025/2022/2019/2016. Windows ARM is explicitly unsupported. Current Windows list
Older OSWindows 8.1/Server 2012 R2 64-bit uses a separate link bearing the same version. Distinguish these older-system files, Status Monitor, NiceLabel and All-In-One tools from the print driver.
CUPSFollow the model-linked Linux/Mac list and verify the actual environment and CT4-LX profile. Mac filenames identify x86/x64. Linux ARMv7/ARMv8/PPC64LE entries do not establish Apple Silicon, Windows ARM or every-distribution support. CUPS list

Match model, resolution and thermal mode

CheckEvidence and next check
ModelDistinguish CT4-LX from CT4-LX-HC and CL4NX. The web manual describes firmware build 6.7.4; that does not establish the installed version of every unit.
DPIThe 203dpi and 305dpi variants have a maximum print width of 104 mm. Match driver resolution to the unit; the four-inch product class is a separate description.
ModeDistinguish direct-thermal-only and combined direct-thermal/thermal-transfer models. Check ribbon for thermal-transfer jobs, and use guidance for the fitted RFID, cutter, dispenser or linerless configuration.

Standard interfaces and fitted options

CheckEvidence and next check
USB / LANCheck standard USB/LAN and distinguish computer USB from USB memory. Compare the selected port or destination address with the actual connection.
OptionsWireless LAN/Bluetooth and RS-232C are optional. Verify the fitted kit; the manual says the printer cannot receive data from multiple interfaces simultaneously.
NFCNFC supports Android Bluetooth/Wi-Fi handover and settings. Its presence does not establish a fitted wireless module or a separate PC print-data path.

Print the printer settings with Configure List

With jobs finished and the printer offline, use Settings → Tools → Test Print → Configure List. Follow the device owner’s policy for settings-menu access.

  1. Check Category and the displayed Label Width/Label Length against the loaded media. Small requires a media width of 50.8 mm.
  2. Use the print icon to produce the settings list; the Ⅱ icon pauses it.
  3. To end the test, pause it first and then use ×. Compare the relevant settings and printer output with the computer job.

Configure List prints settings; Factory is a separate test pattern. Pitch, Offset and Darkness Adjust are linked to production-print settings, so avoid unnecessary changes while checking a report.

Compare printer output with the computer job

  1. Online can execute jobs; Offline stops them. Check the mode shown on the printer.
  2. Offline FEED advances media, distinct from printing a settings list. Settings with no job is also distinct from Adjustments for a paused job.
  3. If the printer report is correct but computer jobs fail, compare the cable, interface settings and exact-model driver.

Four documented error codes

Tap the displayed error number for details. These are selected initial checks; follow the linked manual and SATO support if the condition persists.

CheckEvidence and next check
1007Cover Open — Check that the top cover closes and locks. Persistent detection can involve the cover sensor; consult the official guidance without dismantling it.
1008Out of Paper — Besides absent media, loading, a jam or sensor conditions can cause this message. Compare the media and path first; do not guess calibration values.
1009Ribbon End — For thermal-transfer jobs, check ribbon presence, loading and breaks. Follow the official detection guidance if it persists; do not require ribbon on a direct-thermal-only model.
1022Print Head Overheated — The permitted temperature was exceeded. Stop operation and allow it to cool. Do not invent a fixed waiting period or touch the hot printhead.
