Operating-system and download checks
The Korean catalog lists these systems for checking: The current model-specific WHQL 2508a x64 package lists BP-20M22, PCL6/PS 08.06.05.23 and PPD 01.19.00.05 for Windows 11, Windows 10/8.1 x64, Server 2025/2022/2019 x64/2016 x64/2012 R2 x64/2012 x64. The separate 32-bit package supports Windows 10/8.1. The official EU model page offers Mac PS/PPD 2209a packages for 10.10-10.14 and 10.15/11/12/13, subject to the PS3 kit. Later macOS, Windows ARM and Linux support are not established here.. Select your exact operating system and version on the official page. If your version is not offered, do not install a package intended for a different system.
Connection and installation
- Confirm BP-20M22, OS architecture, administrator rights, PS3/wireless options, paper, toner and saved queue/IP settings.
- The user manual identifies USB-A as a memory-device port and says the USB-B connector is not used. Do not infer PC USB installation from the USB 2.0 specification or confuse USB-memory printing with a PC driver.
- Connect a shielded LAN cable and power on. An administrator checks Special Function, System Settings, Network, Wired settings and DHCP or assigned IPv4 address/subnet/gateway. Confirm the actual address under Confirmation of Network.
- Run the applicable official installer. Add a new Sharp printer, Standard installation uses PCL6; Advanced installation selects other drivers only when their PS3 requirements are met.
- Select the actual printer. If search fails, use Custom installation, Specify the MFP IP address, enter the verified address and select BP-20M22. Check peripherals and Print test page.
- Only with a wireless adapter, choose Wireless Infrastructure under Network, Connection Type and configure Wireless (Infrastructure) SSID, matching security/encryption/key. Check connection and IP before the same network-driver procedure. Wired + Wireless AP is a different mode. Retain organisational security policies.
- For a supported Mac with PS3 installed, read the DMG ReadMe, install and add the actual printer with its PPD. Match installed options and trays. Printing and scanning packages are separate.
Troubleshooting
Check power, LAN/hub connections, subnet and actual IP for missing discovery. Use Specify Condition or verified direct IP when appropriate; ask the administrator about routing. If DHCP changed the address, match the Ports setting to the new address. Configure only installed peripherals if automatic detection fails. Match Output Size, Paper Type and Paper Tray to the actual tray settings. Resolve device paper, cover or toner errors first. Check the PS3 option before PS printing; do not reset the device or remove all queues indiscriminately.
