Check UEWB and SK on the bottom label
This guide is for the TSP100IV receipt model TSP143IV-UEWB. UE is the wired LAN/USB model; UEWB SK is a label model with another manual. Read the full bottom label.
| Item | Check |
|---|---|
| Printing | Thermal receipt printing, 203dpi, up to 250mm/s; no ink cartridge or ribbon. |
| Paper width | Nominal 80mm, or 58mm with the guide. Paper width differs from printable width. |
| Interfaces | USB, Ethernet, WLAN and Bluetooth; check the supported path for the application and OS. |
Official product specifications
Match the package to the OS and POS interface
| Item | Check |
|---|---|
| Windows | Star Windows Software Full 3.11.0, 272MB, 23 July 2026. Explicitly names UEWB and Windows 11 64-bit/ARM64, excluding IoT Enterprise. A powered-off USB printer is absent from Devices and Printers. |
| macOS | CUPS 4.13.1; 559KB, 9 October 2026. The vendor lists macOS 13/14/15/26/27 and TSP100IV series; this alone does not prove installation on every CPU. |
| Linux | CUPS 3.17.0; 617KB, 14 April 2026. Lists RHEL 9.5 64-bit, Ubuntu 16.04LTS 32-bit/24.04LTS 64-bit and Chrome OS V134; match the actual environment. |
| OPOS / JavaPOS | OPOS is included in Star Windows Software and configured separately in its utility. JavaPOS is a separate POS-system driver. Keep firmware separate. |
Official driver installation sequence
For Windows USB, install the driver before attaching the cable to the PC. Then connect/power on and select the resulting print queue. Installer payloads, signatures, firmware and runtime installation were not tested here.
Separate USB-C, USB-A, LAN and Bluetooth
| Item | Check |
|---|---|
| USB-C | Windows/Mac/Linux PC printing data; it does not charge the host. Use a data cable. |
| USB-A | Compatible Android communication/charging up to 1.5A and listed peripherals. Start Android, connect its cable, then power on the printer. USB hubs are unsupported. |
| LAN / WLAN | They cannot operate together: a connected LAN cable takes priority. Disconnect that cable for WLAN use. |
| Bluetooth | Match Bluetooth Information → Dev Name on the self-print. Pairing success is separate from creating the POS print queue. |
Official USB-port instructions
Four thermal-roll loading checks
- Prepare a nominal 80mm roll, or 58mm with the fitted guide. Maximum roll diameter is 83mm.
- Normal loading uses power on for automatic feed/cut. Jam removal has a separate power-off procedure.
- Remove the old core; follow the drawing: paper feeds from below for horizontal use, above for vertical use.
- Pull the edge straight and close both cover sides. Remove the cut scrap; match application/driver width to the roll and guide.
Official loading directions and media specifications
Self-print starts with power on and the cover open
- Load paper and turn the rear power switch on.
- Open the cover. Hold FEED until POWER flashes blue, then release it.
- Close the cover: the printer resets and prints settings, then returns to normal status. This is not a factory-settings reset.
| Item | Check |
|---|---|
| Self-print | Checks basic printer operation/settings without a computer. |
| Host sample | Common check: if self-print works, compare one job through the actual queue, connection and app. |
| Loading feed/cut | Prepares paper; it does not prove host printing or a wireless connection. |

Wi-Fi failures and the Bluetooth COM queue
For WLAN, first check the disconnected LAN cable, correct SSID/security/key, same network and DHCP. SSID Fail, Security Type Fail and Security Key Fail on the diagnostic print identify different checks. For weak signal or no address, compare placement, obstacles and DHCP.
Official FAQ for wireless diagnostic results
For operational problems, select UEWB in Star Quick Setup Utility → Printer Operation Check → Wireless LAN Troubleshoot. This function specifies Bluetooth and location-service prerequisites. No settings or resets were performed here.
Wireless troubleshooting function
In Windows Bluetooth, the guide distinguishes successful pairing from a later Driver is unavailable message. Check the virtual COM in hardware properties and create a separate queue with Star Windows Software; the paired device name itself is not the application print destination. Read the New Pairing Permission OFF precautions before deleting an existing pairing.

UEWB receipt-printing troubleshooting
Use the UEWB tab: Power/Error (blue/red), Bluetooth (blue) and Network (green). The eight selected states below are not invented numeric error codes.
Eight states from the UEWB tab
| Item | Check |
|---|---|
| Power blue / error off | Normal power state; not proof of a successful host job. |
| Power and error on | Cover open; load paper and close both sides. |
| Power off / red every 0.5s | Paper out; load suitable stock. |
| Power off / red every 0.125s | Cutter error; follow the power-off jam/lock guidance below. |
| Blue every 0.5s / error off | Hot head; printing resumes after cooling. |
| Blue every 2s / error off | Hot board; printing resumes after cooling. |
| WLAN Network green | With power blue: green on means linked, off means disconnected, every 0.125s means no IP. Check DHCP/signal. |
| Bluetooth blue | Shows iOS connection; on Android/others it appears only during Bluetooth printing/status queries. Off alone does not establish failed pairing. |
Eight cause checks
| Item | Check |
|---|---|
| No printer power | Check rear switch, both cable ends and outlet. |
| Blank / missing paper | Check thermal stock, coated face, orientation and cover closure. |
| Locked cover / cutter | Do not force the cover or paper; use the linked lock procedure. |
| USB-only failure | Check PC USB-C versus supported Android USB-A, cable and installation order. |
| WLAN-only failure | Check wired priority, diagnostic print, SSID, DHCP and same-network membership. |
| Paired but no output | Compare virtual COM, the separate POS queue and the app destination. |
| Streaks / faint print | Check thermal stock and the different head/roller cleaning methods. |
| Self-print works / host fails | Common check: compare queue pause, port, OS and model, then use this UEWB driver guide |
Paper jams, cutter lock and cleaning
Power off for jam removal. Never force a locked cover. The Cutter Lock guide first tries off/on; if still locked, follow its powered-off front-cover, knob and home-position diagrams. Do not touch the blade or guess a rotation direction. Contact the seller if the error persists.
For cleaning, switch off and unplug. Let the hot head cool; carefully use an ethanol/isopropyl-alcohol swab on its thermal area and dry fully before power on. Turn the rubber roller under a soft dry cloth. Do not blow paper-holder dust into the printer. No fixed cooling time or alcohol concentration is inferred.

Official evidence and scope
Checked 24 October 2026 against official product/support/download pages and the receipt manual naming UEWB. The UEWB indicator tab and selected connection/self-print screens were inspected in a browser. Installer payloads, archives, signatures, a physical printer, network changes and firmware updates were not tested.
