Ithaca 9000 official driver list

Use the exact Ithaca 9000 support list and match the OS and software class to your POS system. A utility or firmware downloader is not a Windows print driver.

Identify Ithaca 9000 and fitted equipment

Ithaca 9000 is a direct-thermal receipt/ticket printer. TransAct also lists Epic TR80 on the sports-betting product page; do not transfer its kiosk specifications to the Ithaca 9000. Interface, power and cutter equipment depend on the fitted configuration.

Windows / POS software scope

ItemCheck
Windows 3.0.3.0The current model list names Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10. It does not establish Windows 11 or CPU architecture.
Older Windows 3.0.2.8A separate row names Server 2003/2008, XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 on 32/64-bit systems. Do not transfer this architecture statement to 3.0.3.0.
POS componentsOPOS 1.13.10 / 1.13.11, Transact POS for .NET 1.12.1.6 and TVS 1.0.0.4 are separate classes with different OS rows. Use the component required by the POS application.
Utilities / firmwareBench Test Utility, USB Port View and firmware downloaders have separate functions. Do not update firmware simply to clear a queue.

Windows 2000 and Windows 95/98/ME have separate historical packages. No current Mac, Linux, Windows 11 or ARM compatibility is established by these rows. Review the official installation guide and package notes before installing.

USB, serial, parallel and fitted options

ItemCheck
USBStandard Type B or a special-order Powered USB configuration. Powered USB must match the specified 24 V supply/interface; it is not an ordinary USB power lead.
RS-232 serial9-pin or 25-pin variants. The official 9-pin example requires a null-modem cable, female to female. Match baud rate, data bits and parity to the host.
Parallel36-pin Centronics or 25-pin variants. A 25-pin shell alone cannot distinguish serial from parallel; compare the configuration listing: RS232 Serial or P1284 Parallel.
EthernetAvailable with an installed Ethernet adapter. Compare its actual configuration with the POS system; an Ethernet socket is not evidence of Wi-Fi.
Wireless optionManual PDF 44 lists a pre-installed 802.11b option. This is not standard wireless on every unit or a promise of current Wi-Fi security/network compatibility.

Interface identification FAQ

Blank output and thermal-roll direction

If paper moves but remains blank, first confirm thermal stock and roll direction. Open the cover, place the roll so paper unwinds from the bottom/front, pull out a short tail and close the lid fully. The manual says the printer advances paper; it cuts the tail only if equipped with a cutter. A broken latch or failed head requires repair.

Official blank-output FAQ

FEED and power standby

A brief FEED press advances one line; holding it feeds continuously until released. The front * power button selects ON or standby/OFF and does not isolate the electrical supply. Disconnect AC before maintenance; do not treat dark indicators as proof that the unit has no power.

PDF 51

Run the TEST-Receipt self-test

  1. Use the front * button to enter OFF/standby; confirm the POWER light is off.
  2. Hold FEED, then press and release the * button while keeping FEED held.
  3. Release FEED when the red ERROR light begins blinking; follow the directions printed on the receipt to select TEST-Receipt.
  4. Compare the receipt with TEST-Head Test when investigating missing print elements or roller defects. Persistent test failure needs service.

This is a printer self-test, independent of a PC print job. Do not keep holding FEED through further blink-rate changes: configuration and hex-dump are different modes. Factory burn-in and rolling-ASCII tests are not routine user tests.

Five LED conditions and ten POWER blink faults

ItemCheck
POWER lit; ERROR activeThe manual generally treats this as recoverable. Check paper loading and cover closure first.
PAPER + ERROR litPaper out; printing waits for replacement.
PAPER blinkingLow paper only when the optional low-paper sensor is fitted. Remaining quantity depends on adjustment.
POWER blinking; ERROR not blinkingThe manual describes a host-held reset condition. Compare the host/connection rather than assuming paper out.
POWER pattern; ERROR litCount POWER flashes between pauses for the ten selected fault definitions below. Persistent faults after restart require service; data may be lost.

7 flashesUser store format
8 flashesElectronic journal format
9 flashesFlash operation

For Table 11, read POWER flashes while ERROR is lit. Counts 1 and 6 are marked unused; no meanings are assigned to unlisted counts. A software/operating-system fault here concerns the printer, not proof that the PC driver is corrupt. Do not format the user store or electronic journal to erase an indication.

Official model troubleshooting

Configuration, serial settings and emulation

Use TEST-Configuration and the printed instructions to read the installed interface, Emulation and Communications settings. Configuration menus depend on the fitted adapter. Compare these with the POS application, including serial baud/parity/data length. The manual says the * button exits configuration without changing settings. Avoid unnecessary changes, electronic-journal operations, resets or firmware/interface replacement.

Head and paper-path cleaning

Before cleaning, disconnect AC and let the head cool. Use a soft brush for paper dust and sensor optics; follow manual PDF 54 for a suitably moistened swab on the thermal head and adhesive deposits on the platen/path. Do not touch the hot head or scrape it with fingers/hard objects. Keep clear of the cutter and allow cleaning solvent to dry. No fixed cooling time is specified here.
