Current OS listing and connection-specific setup

CheckCheck and next step
WindowsThe current listing shows DZCG.01.11.00 (April 2024). Its linked release notes date the release 2023-10-27 and list Windows 11/Server 2022 plus Windows 7/8/8.1/10 and Server 2012/2016/2019. Windows ARM support was not established.
Mac / LinuxThe official list separately shows Mac 1.0.10.0 (April 2024) and Linux DZCG.1.0.0.0 (July 2018). Use the Mac check below for the exact 1.0.10.0 OS/document scope; compare Linux distribution/CPU requirements separately. An ARM entry for UOS does not establish Windows ARM compatibility.
USB install orderFollow the current USB-preconnection alert and release notes p.3. For USB setup, keep the printer off until the installer prompts you to turn it on. If already connected early, use the official recovery link in the listing. Distinguish this from the older user guide’s Windows Update statement.
Ethernet / version conditionFor Ethernet setup, connect the network and power on, then use same-subnet discovery or the actual printer IP. Compare the installed firmware with the notes’ minimum V201.01.15; ask official support about a mismatch. Installation and firmware updating were not tested for this guide.

Mac 1.0.10.0 scope and document differences

Checked 2026-11-03. The release notes linked by Mac 1.0.10.0 on the official ZC300 listing were compared with its two shared Mac guides. Separate supported OS evidence from older examples.

ItemVerified scope and next check
Official Mac OS scopeP1135813 release-note p.1 names Monterey 12.7.1 and Ventura 13.5.2 for 1.0.10.0. These are the documented versions, rather than a guarantee for every later macOS release.
CPU / device conditionThe same document requires at least firmware V201.01.15. Compare the actual printer/driver versions and ask official support about a mismatch. The note does not establish installation success for each Intel/Apple silicon configuration or native ARM support.
USB / Ethernet choiceRelease-note p.2 distinguishes USB and Ethernet setup and requests the printer IP for Ethernet. After setup, distinguish the actual USB/network queue in Printers & Scanners. Do not copy a Windows discovery workflow or an example IP.
Compare device informationThe shared Mac guide’s Device Info lists Model, Firmware Version, Driver Version, Printer Status and IP Address (printed pp.2–3). Compare the selected queue with the actual unit; its ZC350, IP and encoder examples are not ZC300 defaults.
Mac test printingThe shared guide places test printing under Card Setup after checking source, destination, orientation and ribbon combination (pp.11–12). It consumes real cards/ribbon. Compare with the LCD sample in this guide; do not assume the Windows Graphics/Configuration menus are identical on Mac.
Older figures / document labelsBoth Mac guides are P1102718-001; their About figure shows Mac OS X 10.13 and 2018 (p.25). The Unity Launcher/Window Key text is not a current Mac menu route. The new release note’s title/body say 1.0.10.0 while its date table says Version 1.11.00; that discrepancy does not establish a Mac 1.11 release.

Shared-guide printed page numbers are four lower than PDF pages. The current installer, signature trust and physical output were not tested.

Linux distribution examples, network and print checks

Checked 2026-11-03. The shared Linux guide linked by official ZC300 support documents distribution examples, network configuration conditions and print diagnostics.

ItemDistinguish using the official guide
Linux release / OSThe official ZC300 listing has DZCG.1.0.0.0 dated July 2018; its linked archive filename contains x86_64. The P1102717-001 About figure shows Ubuntu 16.04 and 2008–2018 (p.25). This does not establish support for every current Ubuntu version or ARM. The Unity Launcher on p.1 is also a historical UI example; check your distribution separately.
Selected printer / statusCompare the actual Model, Firmware Version, Driver Version, Printer Status, IP Address and Media Info (pp.2–3). Do not copy ZC350, sample-IP or encoder illustrations as ZC300 defaults. Treat Security fields as status information; a communication problem alone is no reason to disable authentication or password protection.
Ethernet setupPage 10 states that wired Ethernet settings cannot be configured while connected over Ethernet; configuration uses USB to avoid losing communication. Check the actual connection/IP first and consult the manual and administrator if an address change is needed. Do not apply its sample DHCP, SNMP or static-IP values.
Linux test cardCheck Card Source, Card Destination, orientation and ribbon combination before comparing Card Setup → Test Print (pp.11–12). Duplex controls depend on an actual dual-sided unit. The test consumes cards/ribbon; compare it with the LCD sample in this guide and distinguish it from Windows Graphics/Configuration menus.
Preview / printed colorIn Image Optimizations, Brightness/Contrast affect the preview; Sharpening, Preheat and Intensity do not (pp.22–23). Intensity remains set until changed. An unchanged preview is not a reason to keep increasing it: record the existing settings and compare the actual print.
Black for barcodes / photosBlack/Mono Panel offers Text, Barcode and Mixed presets plus a separate monochrome conversion (pp.23–24). The guide associates Threshold with text, barcodes and line art, and Diffusion with continuous-tone photos. Front/back K-panel availability depends on the actual ribbon/combination; one conversion or intensity is not suitable for every job.

Printed guide page numbers are four lower than PDF pages. The Linux installer, execution on current distributions, signature trust and physical output were not tested.

Check the actual ZC300 configuration

CheckCheck and next step
Identify ZC300This guide covers ZC300 with its color LCD and three soft keys. Do not apply every option shown in ZC100/ZC350 illustrations to every ZC300. Check Info → Installed options for the fitted configuration (user pp.2–6).
USB / EthernetThe current spec lists USB 2.0 and built-in 10/100 Ethernet as standard. The LCD wired icon distinguishes cable detection from obtaining an IP (user pp.7, 10).
Optional Wi-FiThe current spec lists optional 802.11ac. Do not treat the shared 2017 manual’s b/g text as every current unit’s specification. A Bluetooth icon in an old LCD illustration also does not establish Bluetooth printing on your unit.
Duplex / encoders / NFCCheck for the flipper for duplex output. Magnetic/smart-card encoding requires the relevant option/application. Print Touch NFC provides online help/documentation access (user pp.3, 17 and current spec).

Check cards, ribbon and manual feed

CheckCheck and next step
Cards / hoppersFor example, match supported CR80 PVC/PVC-composite cards to the job settings. The 100-card input/output capacity is specified at 30 mil. Check the current spec’s separate restrictions for thinner, special-size or adhesive cards.
Ribbon loadingUse a genuine ribbon intended for the ZC300, remove the cleaning-roller cover and insert it in its supported orientation without force. Compare detected Type with the fitted ribbon and selected panel combination (user p.11; driver p.4).
Manual feed / destinationWhen Manual Feed Slot is selected, insert the card when the slot is green. Input Hopper, Auto Feed and Already in printer are separate modes. Distinguish a duplex unit’s reject bin from the ordinary output hopper (user pp.12–13; driver p.4).

Compare LCD samples with PC test/configuration cards

The device procedure is on user-guide p.12. If the LCD sample works but the PC job fails, compare connection and driver setup first.

  1. Power on and confirm Printer Ready.
  2. Press the rightmost soft key for Tools.
  3. Use the center key to highlight Print sample cards and the rightmost key to select.
  4. Use the center key to choose the card(s).
  5. Press the rightmost key to print. Testing consumes real cards/ribbon.
CheckCheck and next step
Graphics Test CardSelect under Setup → Print Test Card in the Windows driver. The image follows the ribbon combination; duplex selection on a duplex unit adds a monochrome reverse-side test (driver p.3).
Configuration Test CardThis prints configuration information. With a wireless option and single-sided setting, it can use two cards. Redact network/serial details before sharing the result publicly (driver p.3).

Read each indicator with its color and pattern

These five groups follow user-guide p.24. The cleaning warning is described as flashing amber in p.19 text but steady amber in the p.24 table; compare the LCD message as well.

CheckCheck and next step
PowerFlashing green: starting. Steady green: powered on. Steady red: critical error.
CardFlashing green: printing/encoding. Steady green: cards available. Flashing red: card jam. Steady red: no cards.
RibbonFlashing green: printing. Steady green: ribbon available. Steady amber: low ribbon. Flashing red: exhausted/jammed/broken ribbon. Steady red: invalid ribbon.
CleanFlashing green: cleaning. Steady green: cleaning complete, ending after 30 seconds. Amber: cleaning warning. Steady red: cleaning error or full reject bin.
Manual FeedSteady green: ready for a card/cleaning card. Steady red: card insertion error.

4001, LCD, jam and cleaning checks

CheckCheck and next step
4001 / Out of CardsThe red status-bar example on driver-guide p.2 means no cards. Check the selected source and whether cards are present. This example is not a complete numbered-error catalog.
LCD warnings / errorsWarnings can allow the job to finish and offer an animation via the left key. Errors require action before printing can continue and have no error-state animation (user p.23).
Card jamUser pp.24–25 describe opening the printer, removing the ribbon and turning the manual-advance wheel toward the front to eject the card. Identify the wheel in the diagram; do not use tools or force mechanisms. Seek support for repeated jams.
Cleaning cycleStart from the LCD Tools cleaning item or Windows Printing Preferences → Help & Support → Clean Now, then follow the LCD prompts. Use recommended cleaning cards; do not adjust internal cables/components or use high-pressure air (user pp.19–20; driver p.8).
Head deposits / qualityThe separate head-cleaning procedure on user p.21 uses an alcohol-moistened foam swab with power off, then 2–3 minutes drying before power-on. Do not scrape with sharp objects or add an unverified solvent concentration/head replacement as routine error recovery.
