This guide is for the usb 2.0 dye-sublimation roll-media photo print-only printer, verified 8x10/8x12 media. not ds80dx or ds820a, not a scanner/mfp. no verified built-in ethernet or wi-fi. ds40 holders/cassettes/scrap box are not interchangeable. model DNP DS80. Operating-system and download checks

The Korean catalog lists these systems for checking: Exact DS80 official downloads verified 7 October 2026. Windows11-only 3.1.3.0 package INF explicitly targets Windows 11 x64 and DS80. Do not use on Windows 7/8/10. Separate Windows 10 Compatible 32/64-bit download has DS80 x86/x64 components and 3.1.1.0 INF; Nov22 is not a version or asserted publication date. Its ReadMe_Install.txt states certificate validity November 2022-November 2025. This alone does not establish present signature validity or successful installation; do not bypass signature/security warnings or disable verification. Ask DNP for the current approved package when a warning appears. No inferred macOS/Linux/ARM/Server support from these Windows files. Check exact model/OS/CPU official files separately; legacy availability does not promise OS security support.. Select your exact operating system and version on the official page. If your version is not offered, do not install a package intended for a different system.

Connection and installation

1. Check exact DS80, OS/CPU, installation rights, shielded USB cable and matching photo paper/ribbon. Preserve queues/jobs/colour settings and coordinate shared changes. Use rated grounded power, provided cord and clear ventilation. Read actual terms; no default firmware update, reset or security weakening.
2. Follow the DS80 media column in the DS40/80 manual: install matching paper/ribbon as a set, straight paper path, correct cassettes, no ribbon slack, fitted scrap box and locked mechanism. Do not interchange DS40 parts.
3. The hardware manual connects USB with PC and printer off, then powers on. Switch off before USB connection/disconnection, but never interrupt active printing. Download/extract the exact OS package and follow its current prompts. Windows 11 ReadMe_Install.txt starts package installation through its provided DriverInstall.CMD. Other model files or legacy screenshots are not a substitute for current instructions.
4. Select real DS80 queue and USB port, match installed 8x10/8x12 media and photo job settings, then test a small job. Do not mass-delete working queues.
5. USB-only hardware: no invented Ethernet IP or Wi-Fi SSID menus. External print servers or separate sharing systems need separately verified DS80 compatibility and administrator settings, not generic built-in network instructions.

Troubleshooting

No output: exact model/OS file, power, shielded USB, real port and queue before reinstalling. Paper/Ribbon End: replace matching media as a set, reseat and lock; initialization can feed blank sheets. Alternating ribbon/paper indicators mean media and job-size mismatch. Door Open/No Scrap Box: correct media, close mechanism and fit box; never print without it or put fingers in the cutter/output. Paper/Ribbon Error or cutter jam: follow official media-error procedures; no forceful pulling/opening or disassembly, and use official service for unsafe/unresolved jams. Head Cool Down automatically recovers after cooling; wait. Persistent System Error needs safe restart per manufacturer guidance and official support with exact indicators/model/OS/connection, not factory reset or disabling security.
