Model and driver source
This guide is for the a3 digital full-colour toner multifunction printer with print, copy and scan; ethernet printing, optional mx-eb18 wireless lan, optional mx-pk11 postscript kit and optional bp-fx10 fax model Sharp BP-20C20. The download button opens the official Sharp support page in this window. The manufacturer’s page is authoritative for the available driver packages and their current compatibility.
Operating-system and download checks
The Korean catalog lists these systems for checking: Actual model-specific 2508a English x64 WHQL package SH_D20_PCL6_PS_2508a_English_64bit.exe lists BP-20C20 and Windows 11, Windows 10/8.1/7 x64, Server 2025/2022/2019 x64/2016 x64/2012 R2 x64/2012 x64/2008 R2 x64/2008 x64. PCL6/PS version is 08.06.05.23; PPD is 01.19.00.05. The actual Mac PS file MX-C55c_2512a_MacPS.dmg 2.16.0.9 explicitly lists BP-20C20 and macOS 10.15/11/12/13/14/15/26. Mac printing requires the installed MX-PK11 option. The linked global support route uses Middle East/Africa and UK English; choose the real purchase region. Historical specification/manual OS lists are not the current package lists. Windows x86/ARM, native Apple Silicon, Linux and scanner/fax package compatibility are not inferred.. Select your exact operating system and version on the official page. If your version is not offered, do not install a package intended for a different system.
Connection and installation
- Confirm BP-20C20, exact OS/architecture, administrator rights, toner/paper and installed PS/wireless/fax options. Preserve required existing queues, jobs and IP settings. Download the applicable manufacturer file, not a third-party mirror.
- The user guide identifies USB-A as a USB-memory host and says USB-B is not used by this machine. Do not install it as a PC USB printer. The official Mac setup guide explicitly permits network connection only, not USB.
- Connect Ethernet to the intended LAN. Check the real printer IP under Special Function, System Settings, Network, Confirmation of Network. An administrator handles DHCP or assigned addresses; do not overwrite a correct address or copy an example IP.
- For Windows, extract the official package and launch the Printer folder Setup icon. Add a new Sharp printer. Standard installation selects PCL6; Advanced permits PS/PPD only with the required installed option. Select the actual BP-20C20 and follow the installer prompts.
- If discovery fails, use Specify Condition/Re-search or Custom installation, Specify the MFP IP address with the verified address. Match installed peripherals through Auto Configuration, select the intended queue and Print test page. Restart only when prompted.
- Only with MX-EB18 installed, select Wireless Infrastructure under Network, Connection Type and set the real SSID, matching authentication/encryption/key under Wireless (Infrastructure). Verify connectivity and the actual IP before the same network driver procedure. Wireless access-point mode is different; do not weaken network security.
- For compatible macOS with MX-PK11, open the official DMG, read ReadMeFirst and run the provided installer with local authentication. Add the actual device/serial through Printers & Scanners and select its BP-20C20 PPD. Match actual options/trays; old manual screenshots are examples, not current macOS UI guarantees. TWAIN/scanner and PC-Fax software are separate and are not automatically installed by the print driver.
Troubleshooting
For missing output, check power, LAN cable, actual selected BP-20C20 queue, printer IP versus queue port and whether another copy/print job is running. If DHCP changed the address, match the port to the verified current address. Administrators should review routing or restricted accounts, not disable all firewalls or bypass account controls. If DATA blinks without output, match driver paper size/type/tray to loaded media. For unexpected monochrome output, check the application and driver Auto/Color settings. Check MX-PK11 before PS/Mac printing and the actual installed wireless option before wireless setup. Follow official paper-jam/service instructions, avoid hot fuser parts and never force dismantling or reset every queue indiscriminately.
