Connection and installation
- Check complete model, region, OS/CPU and installation rights. Preserve shared jobs, queues, media and authentication settings; coordinate changes. Read file conditions and terms personally. Do not redistribute files, routinely update firmware/reset devices or weaken security.
- LAN: connect the actual LAN socket with shielded LAN cable to the approved network shared with the PC. Obtain a compatible file, correct any wrong auto-detected OS using Select another OS, and follow the actual installer. Standard installation selects the real machine after verifying model/address; an existing driver may show Add a new Sharp printer. Verify auto-configuration against fitted trays/finishers, print a test page and keep the existing default with Don't change if needed. Save work and restart only when requested.
- WLAN: standard wireless hardware supports Infrastructure and Software AP modes. Verify the administrator-approved network, security, actual SSID/address and access before network discovery and registration with the correct driver. Apply model selection and test-print checks; do not invent panel/WPS/password steps or confuse Software AP/Bluetooth address-book functions with ordinary LAN installation.
- USB A is for memory/peripherals and the official port guide says B is not used. Do not connect the PC as a generic USB-print installation. Compatible Mac: follow the actual Mac PS installation instructions and add the real network printer with the appropriate PPD in Printers and Scanners. Linux: use a genuinely compatible print system and official PPD with the real address; no invented distribution-specific commands. Print/scanner/PC-Fax files are separate and fax hardware is optional.
Troubleshooting
Official tips01209: acknowledge No MFP found on Network, use Specify condition, enter the real IP/hostname and Search. Check machine/router/hub power and LAN cable; consult the administrator if unresolved. Never copy example addresses. Official tips01208: Printer Properties / Print Test Page verifies actual output. Compare real queue/current address/compatible driver and panel error; check media, toner, fitted options and authorized authentication without bypassing restrictions. Scan-only failures need the separate compatible scanner component, not assumed print-driver functionality.
