Connection and installation
- Check exact MX-B557P label, OS/CPU/rights, power/toner/paper and actual installed options. Preserve jobs/settings. Do not touch USB cable/wireless adapter during printing. Get the exact official PCL6(XL) detail, inspect model/OS/language/licence and use only manufacturer downloads.
- USB: manual p.12 identifies rear USB printer port(2) for PC, not accessory/front flash-drive ports; cable sold separately. Test queue/port/media. Installed options may be queried via Printer properties → Configuration → Update Now - Ask Printer; do not enable absent hardware. Sharing/fixed addresses/DHCP reservations require administrator approval.
- Optional wireless: first verify compatible adapter is actually installed and approved. Without it use USB/Ethernet.
