Operating-system and download checks

The Korean catalog lists these systems for checking: The actual Star Windows Software Full 3.11.0 (272 MB, updated 2026-07-23) lists MCP20 and Windows 11 64-bit/ARM64, excluding IoT Enterprise. Older Windows versions in generic installation help are not current-package support. Check separate actual files before assuming Mac/Linux versions or CPU support.. Select your exact operating system and version on the official page. If your version is not offered, do not install a package intended for a different system.

Connection and installation

  1. Check rear-label/self-print MCP20, OS/CPU, rights, regional terms, thermal paper, cables and preserved POS/queue/network settings.
  2. Complete the compatible Windows driver installation before USB connection: extract Full ZIP, run setup/Setup; follow the separate EXE instructions if choosing that package. Then power on, attach USB-B, confirm the real automatically added queue and test print. The current file notes the powered-off device may not appear in Windows Devices and Printers.
  3. For Ethernet, use the same approved LAN and actual address. Self-print with paper loaded: power off, hold FEED, press/release power and release FEED when printing begins. Read Current IP Parameters Status.
  4. Printer Utility: actual model, Ethernet, Search Network or confirmed IP, select/save device. Windows Printer Queue Management: Install Driver, Add and Test Print. The generic Wi-Fi guide title does not make MCP20 wireless.
  5. Ask the administrator for an appropriate persistent IP/subnet; preserve settings, do not copy example IPs or disable protections.

Troubleshooting

For USB pre-connection recognition errors follow the model FAQ's specific device recovery, not mass device removal. Check LAN ends/router/cable and real IP: unlit network LED means physical-link failure; blinking indicates IP acquisition failure. For blank receipts check thermal paper and roll orientation; close both sides of the cover. If self-print works, check POS application/real queue/port/paper configuration. Do not block the outlet. Consult exact-model FAQ/service for persistent faults.
