This guide is for the portable direct-thermal document print-only printer, 200 x 200 dpi, a4/a5/letter/legal, usb 2.0 mini-b and bluetooth 2.1+edr. no ethernet, wi-fi, scan/copy, pj-773 airprint or pj-763mfi apple-mobile features are inferred. model Brother PJ-762. Operating-system and download checks

The Korean catalog lists these systems for checking: Actual Windows Printer Driver 1.8.0c (13 May 2025, 25.74 MB) explicitly lists PJ-762, Windows 11, Windows 10 32/64-bit and Server 2022/2019/2016. Brother states no Windows ARM driver. Separate Software/Document Installer 1.0.0.37 and menu entries do not prove standalone driver support for Server 2025/2012. Mac Printer Driver 5.0.2 (24 December 2019, 0.85 MB) explicitly lists PJ-762 and macOS 13/14/15/26, not a native Apple Silicon claim. Linux/Android menus alone do not verify actual files, distributions, CPU or app versions. Legacy availability is not OS security support.. Select your exact operating system and version on the official page. If your version is not offered, do not install a package intended for a different system.

Connection and installation

1. Check PJ-762 label, exact OS/CPU/administrator rights, saved queues/jobs/media settings, approved power or charged battery, compatible thermal paper and mini-B data cable. Driver, bootstrapper, P-touch Editor, setting tool and firmware are separate. Read actual terms yourself.
2. Windows 1.8.0c file-specific instructions require USB disconnected before starting. Expand the official file and follow actual prompts. When asked to attach USB, turn the printer off, connect its side mini-B port to the PC, then power on. Select the real PJ-762 queue/port and match actual paper size/type before a test print.
3. Bluetooth: power on, press and hold the Bluetooth button, then discover and pair the real printer in the PC Bluetooth manager. Check the adapter's required software, compatible driver and actual Bluetooth setup prompts. Pairing alone is not a print test; verify the real queue/port and blue connected indicator. Do not configure Wi-Fi SSID, router IP, Ethernet or MFi-only iOS instructions.
4. Mac 5.0.2: open the official DMG, then Brother PKG and follow its prompts with authorized administrator authentication. Check CPU conditions and select the real installed PJ-762 queue. This is not PJ-773 driverless AirPrint.
5. Load thermal paper straight, with the smooth thermal print face down as shown in the model guide. Match size, Cut Sheet/Roll type, margins and density in the application/driver/settings tool. Print a real document over USB or Bluetooth.

Troubleshooting

No output: power/battery, fully closed release cover, correct driver/queue, USB data cable/actual port; Bluetooth blue connected indicator and real pairing/settings. Blank output: compatible thermal paper, correct print face and density. Light/dark output: density and paper. Clipping/margins: actual size/type/margins across application, driver and setting tool. Jam: open release cover, carefully remove paper, close and reload. Roller cleaning uses only Brother's designated cleaning sheet/procedure. Cleanup Tool can delete other Brother printer driver files/registry: do not run it by default. No factory reset, mass queue deletion or blanket security disabling. Persistent errors require exact indication and official support. The shared guide's Wi-Fi/AirPrint and MFi features belong to other models.
