This guide is for the print-only color laser printer with usb 2.0, ethernet 10base-t/100base-tx and wi-fi; not the sp c261sfnw scan/copy/fax multifunction model model Ricoh SP C261DNw. The Korean catalog lists these systems for checking: Actual model downloads provide Drivers and Utilities 1.13 and PCL 6 Driver 1.03 for Windows 11 x64, Windows 10 x86/x64 and Server 2025/2022/2019/2016 x64. Universal PCL6 4.45.0.0 is a separate package. PPD Installer 1.04 is actually listed under macOS 26/15/14/13. Linux PCL6 1.01 is listed for specific legacy distributions including RHEL 7 x86/x86-64, not every current Linux or Ubuntu. Do not infer Windows ARM or native Apple Silicon support.. Select your exact operating system and version on the official page. If your version is not offered, do not install a package intended for a different system.

Connection and installation

1. Check the complete model, OS/architecture, installation permissions, regional mains rating, removed transit protection, toner/paper/covers and required saved queues/IP/jobs. Distinguish the USB Host port from the PC printing connection. Never interrupt firmware updates or disable security indiscriminately.
2. The official Setup Guide uses older installer screens: run the current official package, select Quick Install, review terms and choose USB Connection or Network Connection. Follow the actual cable/power prompts, finish, restart only if requested and test the real SP C261DNw queue. Do not blindly connect first or remove all queues.
3. Ethernet requires the intended LAN/router and the actual printer IP. Check DHCP or administrator-assigned non-conflicting static IP/subnet/gateway. Match the queue port to that address if discovery fails.
4. For initial Wi-Fi, Quick Install selects Wireless Connection and Manually configure the printer network, then USB at the specified step. Already configured wireless uses Automatically configure the printer network. Confirm the real SSID/authentication/key, finish and test the wireless queue.
5. The control-panel Wi-Fi Setup Wizard requires prior driver installation and disconnected Ethernet. Menu, Host Interface, Network Setting, Wi-Fi Config., Wi-Fi, Active is followed by the specified restart. Then Setup Wizard selects the real SSID, authentication and key. Check Wi-Fi Status Connected; Connecting and Disconnected do not mean success. Do not weaken network security. WPS and Wi-Fi Direct have separate procedures.
6. For supported macOS, use PPD Installer 1.04 and its actual package prompts/authentication. The user guide OS X 10.11 screens are historical examples, not current UI. Add the actual USB, Bonjour or verified IP printer, choose the SP C261DNw PPD and real installed options, then test. Do not run a Windows EXE or install another model scanner package.

Troubleshooting

Check power, cables, selected queue, matching OS driver and actual IP first. Wi-Fi needs enabled radio, the Ethernet-disconnection condition, real SSID/key and Connected status. Compare actual device messages and paper/cover/consumable conditions with the official user guide. Printer Problems checks an icon name longer than 32 alphanumeric characters, interference from other applications and driver currency. Preserve work and required settings before changes. For oversized PCL5c/6 Locked Print jobs, review required existing confidential jobs, page count and Gradation settings; do not delete sensitive jobs indiscriminately. Persistent faults need official service, not a blanket factory reset.
