Connection and installation
- Read safety guidance. Check full model, region, OS/CPU, rights, power, toner, media and actual connection. Preserve shared jobs, queues, authentication and defaults; coordinate changes. Read actual package terms yourself. No routine reset/firmware update/security weakening.
- Official guide pages 41/55/56: connect USB A/B data cable B to rear printer USB and A to computer. Cancel Found New Hardware Wizard if shown and install compatible official print software; identify actual C8000, complete real installer prompts and test correct USB queue/media. Old CD screenshots are not promises about current Smart Start screens.
- Pages 42/43: with power off, connect Cat5 or better Ethernet to approved router/switch reachable from computer. Power on, obtain actual IP and verify discovered model/address. Pages 54/55 cover actual IP/DNS search or Standard TCP/IP Port and correct model INF via Add Printer. Follow current OS screens, never sample IPs. Test actual queue and fitted options.
- Pages 43/44: WLAN requires optional installed adapter kit. Prepare approved SSID/credentials and follow official administrator guide for device or Embedded Web Server setup. Do not unplug during shutdown or forcibly pull adapter. Without adapter use USB/Ethernet.

Official guide pages 193/194: Power/Wake for sleep, actual panel message for errors, matching paper size/type and queue, toner/waste cartridge and cables. Preserve jobs; do not mass-delete queues or unauthorized work. Network failure: Configuration Report Communication TCP/IP address; 0.0.0.0 means allow DHCP time and check report again after about two minutes. Unchanged address or one starting 169 needs network administrator assistance. WLAN requires actual adapter and correct configuration. Contact official support with exact model, OS, connection and error if unresolved.
